Living In Between The Two Mountains 1 Kings 19:1-18 What are YOU doing here? Change happens when we reach a place where we are fed up Frustrated with what people were not doing - his wrong actions are excused People who are zealous for God will be tempted to get frustrated with indifference of others Take responsibility for your actions, don't blame other people for your behavior Things wouldn't change if you allow what people aren't doing to affect what you're doing You can't live of what the fire did for the sacrifice You can't live of someone's relationship with God Fire burned the sacrifice, but left Elijah's heart untouched Two disciples were frustrated but Jesus touched their heart and things changed God has food for journey to encounter God God was touching a mountain, but then He touched his heart Mountain of Carmel is where you're with people and ministering to them but other mountain is opposite No amount of success will replace the need for your heart to be touched by God Don't exaggerate about what you're going through, prepare for what you're going to (I'm not going nowhere) Preachers exaggerate the good, people exaggerate the bad Face the facts but don't exaggerate God is out of equation in the mind of negative people Dishonest scales are an abomination to the Lord Prov.11:1 Look at us (cripple), look up (bitten by snake), I will lift my eyes to the hills (David) Look up, there is mountain beyond this valley. Every valley is between two mountains Don't die under a bush, God has a limo When you have a vision where future is bigger than your present - prepare for it If God gives you what you didn't build for, it will destroy you (marriage) Build for where you're going not where you're staying (cool kids will work for nerds) It will be too late to build once it starts raining
