1 Timothy 6:6-10
Materialism is the doctrine that says that physical well-being and possessions constitute the greatest good and highest value in life
Materialism is when temporal is more important than eternal; world more important than God; He who finishes with the most toys wins (you came with nothing, you will leave with nothing)
Material things created by God, given as gifts from God, while of value, are less important than spiritual things
Materialism says the value of your life consists of the amount of things that you have Life doesn’t consist of the things you have. Man shall not live by bread alone
Materialism – Achan, Delilah, Judas, Ananias, and servant of Elisha
Materialism is like athletes foot. The appetite – the more you have the more you need
Latest is not last
2 Corinthians 8:1-4
Generosity doesn’t depend on your situation
God gives us poor people on purpose
Generosity not to be blessed but because you’re blessed
Generosity makes you more like Jesus. Jesus is not receiver but giver
What are you doing with your extra?
Think of the people who are in need!
