The Mission - Youth Lesson

1 Chronicles 16:23–24 ESV

23 Sing to the Lord, all the earth! Tell of his salvation from day to day. 24 Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples!

What do you think that God expects of us?

The first thing that God expects of us is to praise him.

What could be some ways that we praise God?

We could praise God in all sorts of ways

as the scripture states we can do so through song.

But the best way to praise God is to live for him.

In 1 Chronicles 16:23 we learn that scripture states that we are to “Tell of his salvation from day to day”

What do you think that means exactly?

Let me ask you this, when you are talking to someone and you are leading the conversation, do you talk about things that you care about or things you don’t care about?

Telling of his salvation is kind of like that.

It is telling people what Jesus has done for you.

You do that because you care about him.

You see that he went to the cross of calvary to die for sinners like you and me and because he did that you are giving him yourself.

By words and by actions.

and as verse 24 said.

Because you care about him you are

You see, we are all sinners

We were separated by God and by sin when at creation our God commanded our ancestores Adam and Eve to not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil

Yet, the did just that.

Separating us from God.

once seperated from God, there had to be a way back.

So God sent his son Jesus Christ to die on the cross of Calvary for the ultimate sacrifice for our sins and for him to raise again on the third day.

He became an advocate to the father and know our way back to God goes a little like this.

Once we recognize our sin, we ask him to forgive us of our sin, then we turn away from our sin, a word the Bible calls repentance.

Once we repent we begin a new life in Jesus.

That means we seek to live for him and to please him.

That is why our verses for today are so significant.

Sing to the Lord, all the earth! Tell of his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples!

Because he did that for us, we want the whole world to know.

We tell others what he has done.

We live for him

We praise him with our life.

We praise him with our decisions.

in fact that could be a good a question for us today.

How can we praise God with our decision?

How can we praise God in our everyday life?

What are you going to do to do a better job to praise God and fulfill his mission?
