The Key of the all Christ’s parables is the Kingdom of God (verse 11)
Jesus is teaching us about his kingdom
who belongs to the kingdom
what the purpose of the kingdom is
how to enter the kingdom
what kingdom people do
People cannot be invited in until the building is complete. Christ came to establish his kingdom so until it is finished all must remain on the outside

Parables are for those with ears (vs 9 and 23)

For those who are seeking the things of God
You have to receive the giver
The disciples (John 17:6-10)
Jesus is not revealing himself unto all men until he is lifted up in the crucifixion
Until the completion of God’s plan
Isaiah 6:8-13 until destruction but there will be a remnant

Parables are to be understood together (vs 13 and 21)

God’s word is to be studied together
Precept upon precept, line upon line (Isaiah 28:13)
Jesus’ teaching is to be looked at all together
All things will be brought to light
Jesus is not speaking into a void or with a purpose
He is teaching for the past, present and future
Through his teaching, all things will be brought to light (by his words we will know him)

Parables are to lead us to greater truth (24-25)

Take heed how you hear
Just as the example of the soils, as God brings you truth you must be ready to receive
What keeps people from receiving the truth
Spiritual hardness, hard hearts so that satan can remove what you have heard (15)
Persecution, no roots so that the world can sway you back to themselves (16-17)
Cares of this world, snagged by lusts so that Christ does not seem attractive
More given, all taken away
God rewards with greater understanding those who follow his words
God will punish those who stumble in the simple truths he gives
Take heed what ye hear!
God is a God who speaks, are you listening?
he has more that he wants to reveal to you, are you ready to receive?
