By one bite Adam went from prince to prisoner; in one night Joseph went from prisoner to prince.
Can one touch heal you? (Blind, poor, lame, Psalm 68:6)
Can one bite hurt you? (Text, Hair, Solomon 2:15)
Fox is fast, slick, sneaky, little, adorable, cute
Little thorn can cause much suffering. Little cloud can hide the sun.
In Christ we are prince. In Adam we are prisoner.
Prison is training for reigning. It's harder to rule then to suffer!
Joseph was called to rule that which ruled him
Joseph endured well, and ruled well.
Don't let it make you bitter but better.
It's all going to work for your good, even if its' not good.
Don't judge a tree based on winter. Don't call me Naomi - Mara
How do you rule over that which ruled you?
Abundance of grace to REIGN in life (Romans 5:17)
The case of Samson:
- they subdued Samson after long trial
- defeated, blind, and bound yet more dangerous
- from thousand of soldiers to youthful lad
- samson went for pillars. enemy to entertaiment
- he attacked them first because of hate, not it's revenge
- WE MUST BE SOBER and alert…(1 Peter 5:8-9)
- PUT WHOLE ARMOR of God (Ephesians 6:11)
- Don't treat your past like your pet, because it's your prisoner!
Paradise is not the absence of satan, but dominion over him.
We need enemy or else we have nothing to rule over
When we don't rule the enemy, we get ruled by the enemy.
When we rule each other, we are ruled by the enemy. (we destroy each other, so satan does not have to)
Luke 23:25
Barabbas was guilty. Jesus was innocent. Barabbas lived, Jesus died.
Barabbas is symbolic of the devil (John 10:10):
- thief (John 18:40);
- killer (Mark 15:7);
- destroyer (Mt.27:20-21)
Barabbas is not dead but in prison
Your enemy can't be killed but he must be caged!
You can't kill flesh, Satan and world, but you can cage it
Your flesh is either in prison, or you are in prisoned by it
Angel took a chain and caged him, God said whatever you BIND!
Satan does not have second thoughts about binding YOU!
Difference between HAVING DEMONS, and DEMONS HAVING YOU
When you have demons, you are prince.
When they have you, you are prisoner.
I AM DELIVERED, I AM INVISIBLE, I CAN'T SIN AGAIN, I CAN'T BE TEMPTED!
When Barabbas is in prison, Jesus is doing miracles
When enemy is bound, the grace is on the lose
When you reject Jesus, you release Barnabas
You can't reject Jesus without releasing the enemy
To the extend that we reject the light we will be filled with darkness (room example)
When Barnabas is released, he becomes the prince, you become the prisoner
Your victory is not permanent is your relationship with Jesus is temporary
The depth of your submission reveals the height of your victory
How to rejecting Jesus:
1. Follow your feelings instead of convictions (Mark 15:11)
- Jesus did not follow His heart, He surrendered it.
- Feelings are shallow, trickle, and unreliable. Don't follow your heart, lead your heart.
- Faith will lead you to the Father. Feelings will lead you to failure.
- Consistency confirms the genuinely of what you are doing. Anything that is not constant is produced by feelings
- Life is changed by renewing your mind not feelings.
- Passion creates drive, but when it drives, it wrecks your ship
- Feeling create an atmosphere of unbelief and disregard which makes it difficult for you to receive.
- change of thoughts is change of life = repentance
2. Addiction to people approval instead of pleasing God (Mark 15:15)
- You can't love people you are seeking to please
- The fact that you can't swim against the flow means you are not alive
- Naaman almost lost his miracle of people pleasing…Saul did..
3. They had another "king" (John 19:15)
- Jesus comes as King, but we are looking for Mr. Fix it
