Follow Holy Spirit

1 Samuel 16:13-14

He found destiny running chores for his dad. (David & Saul)

Instead of looking, position where destiny can find you.

If you are too big for sheep, you are too small for throne.

In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your steps...

Insecurity crippled his destiny. (Saul)

Insecurity is when you think less of yourself, humility is when you think of yourself less.

Looks, position can't cure insecurity

Close relationship with God is the only cure for insecurity

When you are not aware of the presence, you will be aware of your nakedness

Saul was appointed and anointed.

APPOINTMENT + ANOINTMENT = DISAPPOINTMENT

God gave His Spirit only to those who had a task bigger than their ability.

Task is not hard, but impossible, without God’s Spirit it’s dead end.

Moses did the task without POWER. Sons of Sceva did it without POWER.

Saul’s sins were not big, but his connection with Holy Spirit was small.

Saul is holding on to the throne, David held on to the Spirit letting go of the throne.

Moses and John the Baptist were people hungry for the Holy Spirit, not protectors of their reputation.

When Holy Spirit leaves, you don’t lose your appointment, but you lose your anointing.

Without Holy Spirit you will die in the place where you are called

Saul and Samson died in their field of calling.

Land without water is famine.

Saul is not seeking anointing, he is destroying anointing. ABEL vs CAIN...

If Saul would chase God’s Spirit as much as he chased David, God would show mercy to him.

God did not let Saul catch David...anything we pursue with passion pushing God aside, God will not let us catch...

We can either quench, grieve, resist, blaspheme the Holy Spirit or be filled, led, empowered...

Holy Spirit departed Saul, enemy troubled Saul

With Holy Spirit enemy is tormented, without Holy Spirit you are tormented

He had moments of rest, but lifetime of torment...Anointing brought relief, but it can also bring deliverance...
