0689 Spirit Walk

It’s hard to have the same fruit as the early church when we value a book they didn’t have above the Holy Spirit they did have

Lust is of the flesh; love is of Spirit. Lust intensifies, Holy Spirit satisfies

Flesh must be crucified, it can't be satisfied {itching}

You have to fulfill your flesh to be fulfilled

All Christians have Holy Spirit; Holy Spirit does not have all Christians

You don't get more spirit by denying flesh, you get more spirit to deny flesh

3. Relationship with Holy Spirit makes rules necessary

Laws - ceremonial; civil; moral

Law is not our babysitter, Holy Spirit is our guide

Rules don't condition but confirm relationship (gym verses family) (rules to join)

Relationship is living above rules not under them. Guard rails to keep it track

Valuable needs to be protected. No rules meaning relationship is not valuable (Samson did not)

4. Relationship with Holy Spirit is gift to people around you

Fruit is what He produces at once. We can work on one at expense of another

Fruit is growths slowly, gradually. I grow through life with Holy Spirit

Fruit is attitude more than action. It's who I am more than what I do

Fruit feeds others around me

Fruit of Spirit, not of prayer, fasting, church attendance

When you work on relationship, Holy Spirit will work on your character

Life does not produce character, Holy Spirit

Don't work on you, work on relationship

Holy Spirit does not stop working, but He can get stopped from working

Factory operate with dead stuff; garden cultivates a living force to their appointed end
