Matthew 6:9–15 KJV 1900
After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Model prayer
Introduction
Respecting God
His will be done, it is all about Him not us/you
Trust in Him to provide
Forgive others
Help us not stray, keep us safe
Closing all about God and His power & glory
So get this, the disciples witness so many miracles like raising people from the dead etc, but yet they did not as Jesus to show them how to perform them, but they did ask Him how to pray.
Look up theses verses Matt 14:23 , Mark 6:46, Luke 6:12, Mark 1: 35, and Luke 5: 16.
Jesus shows us how important by how often He got alone and prayed.

So why do we find it so hard to pray when we as Christians know we should?

Daniel prayed 3 times a day. Look at Dan 10:12-13
Daniel 10:12–13 KJV 1900
Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.
Michael had to come and lay some miagi do karate to help the angel to get around the enemy and come to Daniel. Satan wants to keep us from praying and will use any excuse he can.
But Danny Boy humbled himself and prayed, see the Bible Look at Eph 6:12
Ephesians 6:12 KJV 1900
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
See our fight is not with others in this earth but in spiritual warfare.
Okay so you might think oh Daniel is OT, well fine lets stay in Eph 6:10-18
So here we are told to get dressed for battle, but what are we told to do once we are dressed for battle with the spiritual enemy? We are told to pray. Amen
Luke 2:37–38 KJV 1900
And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day. And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.
1 Thessalonians 3:10 KJV 1900
Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?
have you ever heard of attention economics?
Attention economics is an approach to the management of information that treats human attention as a scarce commodity and applies economic theory to solve various information management problems. According to Matthew Crawford, "Attention is a resource—a person has only so much of it.
Now before I go on I am a fan of using technology as a tool for us to do a job, I am not against technology at all. But we must understand how it is also used by the enemy to stop you from winning any spiritual battles.
We need to make time for prayer, if we are not then you do not have a relationship with God, sorry but you do not. If your prayer life consist of request of Him when you are going through something horrible like a sickness or a loved one dying etc, that is not a relationship, that is a genie in a bottle.
Relationship is define as the state of being connected by blood or marriage. Praise God if you are saved you are connected by both, the blood of Christ, and as the bride of Christ.
Now God does not hear every prayer, I know some may think so, but Matt 6:5
Matthew 6:5 KJV 1900
And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
God does not hear the prayers of a hypocrite
Matthew 6:7–8 ESV
“And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
God does not like the prayers of the heathen, unsaved.

Six principles of prayer

In Matt 6:6
Matthew 6:6 ESV
But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
it states when you pray, so the first principle is to make pray a priority.
Same verse tells to go and find a place, whether its a room, closet, in your car etc, by find a place, remember Jesus always went off somewhere to pray.
The same verse tells us to shut the door, so we do it in private.
Pray, is telling you to say it to speak it, not just think.
It says to pray to the Father, it is about the who, and the who is the Father
Promise, Jesus promise if you pray correctly you will be rewarded openly, now this is not the prosperity gospel, but God does keep His promises, just remember He know better then us what is best for us.
