WHEN KINGS HIDE IN CAVES
Dealing with Authority:
1. Parental authority - he who treats you like a kid
God will not bless you based on how you get treated but on how you treat your parents
2. Prophetic authority - he who treats you like a king
Goal is not to get close to the prophet but to stay close to the course which he lays for you
3. Painful authority - he who throws spears at you
The only way you avoid becoming like your bad person is by not throwing spears back at them
We learn from:
Mistakes - they teach you a lesson after you get burned Mentors - they teach you a lesson to avoid burning Master - you can’t learn from Jesus you don’t listen to your elders
“When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years.” Mark Twain
1 Samuel 14:6-7
Mission was clear for Jonathan - If you are at the traffic light, don’t wait for secretary of transportation to call to you to go, if you have a green light!
Your reality will live up to your vision - Jonathan had faith - vision -
make sure the home group you have in your mind is bigger than the one you have in your house.
If you don’t wait for Samuel, you end up waiting for Philistines - we live in either response to God or reaction to the devil
Faith is contagious - faith is like cold, it’s contagious, you infect others by being around them.
Find an armor bearer. Don’t look for strongest, person with titles, but person with submission.
Reach your goal one by one.
