THE GOOD OF THE LAND
Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him”
Bible records 650 prayers. 450 answers to prayers. Jesus prayed 25 different times during His ministry. Paul mentions prayers 41 times in his writings.
"Prayer does not fit us for the greater work; prayer is the greater work." Oswald Chambers.
“Until you know that life is war, you cannot know what prayer is for.” John Piper
"To get nations back on their feet, we must first get down on our knees." Billy Graham
“Every Christian needs a half-hour of prayer each day, except when he is busy, then he needs an hour.” - Francis de Sales
“To be a Christian without prayer is no more possible than to be alive without breathing.” – Martin Luther
Pattern for Prayer
Exodus.25:40 “And see to it that you make them according to the pattern which was shown you on the mountain”
1. Brazen Altar - Cross
2. The Laver - Sanctification
3. Manora - The Holy Spirit Is.11:2
4. Showbread - The Word
5. Altar of Incense - Worship
6. Mercy Seat - Intercession
Isaiah 1:18 “Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.”
1. Come to God when you’ve sinned.
God still showed up when Adam sinned! Genesis 3:8-9
Don’t run from God. Hide in Him. Confess, don’t cover. Get broken, don’t blame.
God can’t force His love on you.
2. Be willing and obedient
Obedience is carrying out the word or will of another person.
Rarely will you can be obedient and not be willing. Most of us are willing but not obedient.
I used to pray to hear God’s voice, now I pray to heed God’s voice.
Jesus was obedient till death. Deut.28:1 Voice and word.
Lester Samral (Go to Tibet - $3,100 in 1930)
Delayed obedience is disobedience. (I will follow but later)
Partial obedience is disobedience. (Saul and Ananias - Jesus refused vinegar)
3. Eat of the good of the land
Clean your thinking from traditions
rich people don’t go to heaven money is root of all evil Jesus was poor so should you be (2 Cor.8:9) riches are bad, poverty is good (rich are greedy) God uses poverty so it must be good
Stretch your faith with promise of God, not problems of life.
man could not believe because he saw only famine instead of curving your spending, increase your income enjoy your work, in control of your money, your needs met and dreams reached, live without debt, give according to your income (or god will reduce your income according to your giving)
Change your confession according to God’s word
- I am poor, we don’t have enough
- don’t let this book depart your mouth. Words are material Holy Spirit will use.
