BREAKING MENTAL BARRIERS
“And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” John 8:32
Mental state of the person can sign of curse or blessing! (2 Tim.1:7)
Abraham vs demon possessed man. Fiery darts. Blinded mind. Anxious mind. Debased mind.
Where the mind goes, man follows! (Prov.23:7)
Thoughts - feelings - words - acts - habits, legacy
Statistic: We have 10k thoughts a day with 70% of them repetitive.
Your subconscious mind is 30,000 times more powerful than your conscious mind. 95% of all your behaviors are automatic. A normal human can speak at the speed of 200 - 300 words per minute whereas the subconscious can think at the rate of 1000+ words per minute. It can process 40 Million bits of info per second while conscious mind 40 bits of info per second. Makes it 88 percent of brains capacity.
You control your mind, your mindset controls you. (Automatic response)
Elephant 10ft, 11k pounds, when 2 days old, 200 pounds, chain cuts the skin, creates pain and hurt the more he tries to escape. It hurts more to be free than it does to be bound. Physically he has the power, mentally he lost it.
1. What you feed your mind with becomes your mindset
Only 5% people think, 15% think that they think, the other 80% would rather die than think.
Who fills your mind? Life? Past? Devil - for Judas?
CEO reads 4 books, 1 book with 60% not get passed 1st chapter.
2. When you feed your mind you liberate your life
God provides the truth, but does not fill my mind with it (God feeds the birds)
It’s not truth that sets us free but our knowledge of it (Food in refrigerator)
Example: Porn, Loneliness
3. Knowledge is the key that unlocks what’s already ours
“As His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue.” 2 Peter 1:3
If we despise knowledge, success will despise us (Prov.1:20-33)
Knowledge is more valuable than gold ($1 for hitting, $999 for knowing where to hit)
Truth is boring. Too busy for truth. Truth is contrary. (facts are not truth even if they are true)
You can’t be lucky and lazy.
Story: Judge plaintiff “that’s right”, defendant “that’s right”, clerk of court “that’s right”)
