Pride, Sin, and Lucifer all have I as it’s middle center letter.
Hubris of Success Jim Collins (Success viewed as deserved, decline in hunger of learning, discounting the role of God; Kodak, Nokia, Blockbuster)
[WHEN WE LOSE HUMILITY, WE LOSE HUNGER]
“I knew my actions were wrong, but I convinced myself that normal rules did not apply. I never thought about who I was hurting… I thought I could get away with whatever I wanted to. I felt that I had worked hard my entire life and deserved to enjoy all the temptations around me. I felt I was entitled. Thanks to money and fame, I didn’t have to go far to find them. I was wrong. I was foolish. I don’t get to play by different rules. The same boundaries that apply to everyone apply to me. I brought this shame on myself.” Tiger Woods
{WHEN WE LOSE HUMILITY WE LOSE HOLINESS}
"Pride is like a mother, it's pregnant with all of the other sins." - Augustine
"The best man in the world can only maintain his integrity as long as God upholds him in it!" - TB Joshua
Voltaire, the atheist, almost destroyed France with his philosophy. Within 100 years there would be no bible. “the Nazarene, the Nazarene - though hast conquered, thou nazarene” 100 years later the very house turned into bible publishing house.
We need God but don’t know how much we need God.
It should not take trouble to bring you closer to God!
Proud and positive - Goliath! Possessions. People.
Jeremiah 17:5-9
1. No need for God Devil can’t turn you into a shrub until he kills your appetite for water Rain and underground water / public and private relationship with God No seed, no fruit - appearance of success is full of foam We burn bushes, buy trees! If you don’t need no one, no one will want you. The only place where you are big is your head! A Christian believer needs a church, just as a candle needs a candlestick, a tree needs soil, and an electric light bulb needs a socket. Without a candlestick, a candle cannot stand; without soil, a tree cannot grow; without a socket, an electric bulb cannot shine. Neither can you. Without fellowship, a Christian can neither stand, nor grow, nor shine.
2. Heart tricks (sold phone) When heart departs from God it becomes the compass instead of a channel Jacob tricked Esau, caused him pain and hurt - that’s what heart does
3. Missing the good One does not see good, another does not see heat Some see opposition, others see opportunity
4. Inhabits drought One lives in wilderness, another prospers in wilderness Red sea opened new level for Israel but finished Egyptians. Fire killed strong men but revealed Jesus. Same flood that ended wicked, elevated Noah.
Proverbs 13:22
Wealth of the wicked is stored up for the righteous
Mark 3:27
You can't plunder if you don't bind
Curse is like glass - you see through but can't go through
