When we don’t tithe we rob God from opportunity to bless us

Tithing was practiced by Abraham 550 years before the law

Jesus said, we should focus on mercy but not ignore tithing either (Mt.23:23)

Practical on Tithing:

Tithe is to be brought to house of God (local church)

Tithe is tenth

Tithe is principle of first

Tithe is about the test (10 commandments, 10 tests, 10 plagues, 10 virgins, 10 days for Daniel, 10 days in Revelation)

0. Alms - compassion

Jesus told the leper to give an offering after his healing

When we are not generous with the poor, it shows we have not fully understood the grace of God

0. Sacrifice - generosity

Generosity begins with God, selfishness begins with satan.

David gave 21 billion for temple project. Solomon 1k bulls. Mary gave the year’s wages. Widow 2 pennies.

Sacrifice is not how much you give, it’s how much you have left
