Luke 10:23-25
1. Resurrection is an EVENT
a. Resurrection is the foundation of our faith (1 Corinthians 15:17)
- OT predicted it. Jesus said it. Witnesses. Empty tomb -
(Doubting faith)
b. Resurrection is God’s vindication of Jesus (Romans 1:3-4)
- Jonah story.
c. His resurrection is my justification (Romans 4:25)
- (Salvage title)
d. Fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, homosexuals, sodomites, thieves, covetous, drunkards, revilers, extortioners…2 Corinthians 11:2 THAT I MAY PRESENT YOU AS CHASTE VIRGINS TO CHRIST.
e. 1 Corinthians 6:11 Washed, sanctified, and justified
f. Forgive and forget, your vibe attracts your tribe.
If devil reminds you of your past, remind him of your future!
2. Resurrection is an EXAMPLE
a. Resurrection of Jesus is the guarantee of our resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:22) - Christ is the HEAD, body will follow!
b. Resurrection of Jesus is pattern for our resurrection. (1 Corinthians 15). Corruptible to incorruptible, mortal to immortal, dishonor to glory, weakness to power, sourish to spiritual (kind of like Mac and PC)
c. When I forget where I am going to, I will get discouraged by what I am going through (Matthew 5:12) “Aim at heaven and you will get the earth thrown in; aim at earth and you will get neither.” C.S. Lewis. This is your HOTEL, not your HOME!
3. Resurrection is an EXPERIENCE
a. Resurrection is a doctrine but its also a Person. (Luke 10:23-25) 7 “I Am’s”
b. You don’t have to die to experience resurrection, you have to believe. Romans 8:11 Give life to your mortal body
c. Believing releases the glory of God. Teavana needs hot water to show its content. Tea is not for smell, but taste!
Experience power of Resurrection:
1. Make room for supernatural (remove the stone, lies, traditions, fear - faith in healer - I KNOW WHOM I BELIEVED)
2. Thank him on the right side of the miracle. Panic instead of praise puts your faith on life support. Thank him for He is good!
3. Proclaim, don’t complain
THE INCOMPARABLE CHRIST
More than 2000 years ago there was a man born contrary to the laws of nature.
He laid aside his purple robe for a peasant’s tunic. He was rich, yet for our sake he became poor. This man lived in poverty and was raised in obscurity. He received no formal education and never possessed wealth or widespread influence. He never traveled extensively. He seldom crossed the boundary of the country in which he lived.
But this man’s life has changed the course of history.
In infancy he startled a king. In childhood he amazed religious scholars. In manhood he ruled the course of nature—walked on stormy waves and hushed the raging sea to sleep.
He healed multitudes without medicine and made no charge for his services. He never practiced psychiatry. Yet he has healed more broken hearts than all the doctors far and near.
He never wrote a book. Yet his life has inspired more books than any other man. He never wrote a song. Yet he has furnished the theme for more songs than all songwriters combined.
He never founded a college, but all the schools put together cannot boast of having as many students. He never marshaled an army. He never drafted a soldier or fired a gun. Yet no leader ever had more rebels surrender to him without a shot fired.
Herod could not kill him. Satan could not seduce him. His enemies could not destroy him. The grave could not hold him. After three days he rose from the dead, alive forevermore!
He is the ever-perfect One. He is the Christ, the Son of the living God. This man stands forth upon the highest pinnacle of heavenly glory, proclaimed by God, acknowledged by angels, adored by his people, and feared by demons as the risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
