SERIES: JESUS (Part 5) MESSAGE: Jesus is our Sanctifier SPEAKER: Pastor Vlad
Promise land = life in the kingdom In the kingdom we fight FROM VICTORY not for victory. Therefore we are more than conquerors. Every conqueror gets victory after the battle, we get victory before the battle.
Salvation is more than an escape from hell, it’s life in the kingdom of God. (John 3:2-3) Teaching on new birth was in response to religious leaders observation of the incredible life of Jesus. New birth is to see and enter the kingdom of God. Repentance for the kingdom is near. (Mt.3:2)
The Book of Joshua is about Defeat the enemy and Divide the spoil. Moses defeated only 2 kings but Joshua defeated 31.
At that time the Lord said to Joshua, “Make flint knives for yourself, and circumcise the sons of Israel again the second time.” So Joshua made flint knives for himself, and circumcised the sons of Israel at the hill of the foreskins. And this is the reason why Joshua circumcised them: All the people who came out of Egypt who were males, all the men of war, had died in the wilderness on the way, after they had come out of Egypt. Joshua 5:2-4
Then the Lord said to Joshua, “This day I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you.” Therefore the name of the place is called Gilgal to this day. Joshua 5:9
“You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.” John 15:3
1. JESUS SANCTIFIES THOSE HE SAVES. (Ex 31:13)
a. Good works can’t save you. Only Jesus can! (Eph.2:8-9) Moses could not lead people into promise land, Joshua led them there. The law is like Moses is great but unable to lead us to relationship with God
“We are not saved by race, place, face, pace, but by GRACE” Rick Warren
We all missed the mark (Rom.3:23). Stop trying, start trusting.
b. Jesus is involved in your sanctification as much as He was in your salvation (1 Thess.5:23-24) Sanctified” is to hallow, set apart, dedicate, consecrate, separate, or make holy. Things, places and ceremonies were sanctified. It’s manifestation of life produced by the indwelling of the Holy Sprit. Salvation Sanctification Occurs instantly (Luke 23:39-43) Occurs gradually (Rom.8:28) Requires faith (Mark 1:14-15) Requires yielding (Rom.6:13) Final (1 Pet. 1:3-5) Grows (Luke 22:31-32) Removes penalty of sin (Rom.5:9-11) Resists the desire to sin (Rom.6)
God’s desire is for all to be saved (2 Pet.3:9) God’s command to believers (1 Pet.1:14-16) Getting you out of the world Getting the world out of you
Changes your eternity Changes your character
2. JESUS SANCTIFIES BY SCRIPTURE. (John 15:3)
a. The word of God has the power to change your character. Laws can’t change people. God’s word has that power.
Gods word ~ reveals God (John 5:39) ~ it helps us conquer sin (Ps.119:11) ~ increases our faith (Rom.10:17) ~ it brings healing (Ps.107:20) ~ brings success (Joshua 1:8) God’s word is compared to a seed, light, water, fire, hammer, sword, and honey!
The word will help you to succeed in the world it created.
The word of God is a double edged sword: one edge for sanctification, another edge for subduing (Heb.4:12; John 15:3; Eph.6:17)
“Visit many books but live in the Bible” Charles Spurgeon
It takes 72 hours to read the whole Bible. Most people in America watch 33 hours of TV in a weeks and 14 hours on social media in a week. 92 hours in 2 weeks.
The word removes the generational curses and the residue of my past
“Jesus has no place in life not dominated by His word” TB Joshua
If you allow God’s word to rule you it will make you reign in life.
Prayer Points: Your Word is integrity itself, steadfast, sure, eternal.....I trust my life to its provision Your Word is final authority setting all questions and troubles I agree with your word, I disagree with any condition, any thoughts, any circumstances with anything contrary to Gods Word Anything in my promise land that's not planted by my Father be uprooted in Jesus name
