Jesus was looking for a womb, manger, tomb. The Holy Spirit came to live in us.

And Joshua spared Rahab the harlot, her father's household, and all that she had. So she dwells in Israel to this day, because she hid the messengers whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho. Joshua 6:25

But the children of Israel committed a trespass regarding the accursed things, for Achan the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed things; so the anger of the Lord burned against the children of Israel. Joshua 7:1

Secret place or secret sin:

- Rehab hid spies, Achan hid clothes

- Rehab was saved, Achan was destroyed.

- Rehabs family was rescued, Achans family was stoned.

- Rehab lived in Jericho, Achan loved Jericho.

- Rehab wanted to be like Israel, Achan wanted to be like Jericho.

1. What are you hiding?

Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, nor sworn deceitfully. Psalm 24:3-4

Sin grows in the dark. Sin seeks out the darkness so its deeds aren't exposed to God or to others (John 3:20).

Present victory is not Gods approval on your life. Samson was still winning battles while living in sin. Drinking coke today will not make you overweight tonight. We examine our heart in the light of the word, not in light of worldly advancements.

Private sins lead to public scandals. Self-punishment and public embarrassment is not your savior. Judas looked to that.

What’s under your tent? Deal with it. Don’t till you get caught, arrested, suspended, separated, or fired.

2. Who are you hosting?

a. The Holy Spirit comes by invitation of salvation.

Until Jesus Christ is your savior, the Spirit has no resting place in your heart. Gen.8:8

Your heart is a tomb. He prefers a temple.

b. The Holy Spirit is hosted by surrender.

All Christians have the same Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit does not have all the Christians the same. (Martha Christians. Living organism)

c. Four reasons we forsake the Holy Spirit:

Condemnation Emotions Busyness Laziness

The Holy Spirit is the greatest agent of change.

Don’t use the Holy Spirit to get change, allow the Holy Spirit to use you and bring change.

Moses did not use God to get miracles, he used miracles to get to know God.

‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts. Zechariah 4:6

Prayer Point:

Lord Jesus, have mercy on me. According to your lovingkindness, cleanse me from secret sins. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Oh Holy Spirit, give me more of you. Oh Holy Spirit take more of me.
