Reasons We Call It Salvation

Ezekiel 36:26

A new heart also will I give you,

and a new spirit will I put within you:

and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh,

and I will give you an heart of flesh.

When you hear about someone getting saved you hear religion or religious.

We do not call it:

Getting religion

Being religious

Here are the REASONS we call it salvation.

I. New Courage.

2 Timothy 1:7

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear;

but of power,

and of love,

and of a sound mind.

Power overcomes fear. (Night light)

Love overcomes fear. (Small fellow ready to fight a big man over his wife)

A Sound mind overcomes fear. (Thinking things through makes all the difference)

II. New Character.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a

new creature: old things are passed away;

behold, all things are become new.

Criminal record changes.

Credit report changes.

Church attendance changes.

III. New Convictions.

Isaiah 55:8

For my thoughts are not your thoughts,

neither are your ways my ways, saith the

LORD.

A different way of thinking. (Romans 12:1-2)

A different way of talking. (James 3)

A different way of timing.

Romans 5:6

For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

Conclusion:

Has Jesus made a difference in your life?

Has Christ called you unto Himself?

Has Christ cleaned you up?

Has Christ changed you?

1 Corinthians 6:9-11

9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
