Ecclesiastes 3:11
“He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.”
He hath made everything Beautiful during his time. Also, he had set the world in that so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.
Mark 5:25-27, 29-34 KJV
“And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, and had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, when she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.”
Introduction
My brothers and sisters, I truly believe we are living in a day and age where it’s difficult to find grace, we are constantly under the pressure to be,
The pressure to be a good parent
The pressure to be a good worker
The pressure to be a good man
With expectations that we have for others and even for ourselves we quickly give criticism but are hesitant to give grace.
Not just with others but some of us are even hard on ourselves to we don’t even extend grace to ourselves
By no means am I saying we shouldn’t set expectations or hold ourselves and others to a standard.
‌However, what I’m saying is that holding ourselves and others hostage to the past prevents us from moving forward to where God wants us to be.
The truth of the matter is we all have fallen short at one point or another and we needed someone to show grace.
It is my belief that. We've been so long in an environment that can be so cruel that we forget how the treat ourselves
We have to get to a place where if nobody else treats us right. I'm going to treat myself right.
If nobody treats you right be kind to yourself
You've been tricked so many times now its times to treat yourself.
‌You gotta learn how to show Grace to yourself.
Treat yourself
So it is if we strive to be like God our display of grace should not be based on who deserves it. Because if they deserve your kindness it’s not grace. If they deserve your forgiveness it’s not grace.
Grace is unmerited, it’s undeserved, now there’s the challenge.
To forgive people who don’t even it.
To put down the stone when you want rare back and through it.
I’m talking to someone who had cried but still forgave who have been mistreated, and misused but still forgave.
Chose to be kind.
It’s not that you forgot you just chose to forgive.
It’s oftentimes that there is a blessing in betrayal
If you don’t believe me ask Joseph. His brother Ms threw him into the pit that lead to his elevation.
He chose to forgive his brothers and his response was you meant it for evil but God meant it for my good.
He had the authority to harm them but he chose to help.
Real grace is shown when you help what harmed you.
The truth of the matter is that if we want to be free we have to apply Grace in every aspect of our life.
When we understand this we see how God forgave us over and over again and if had not been for the grace of God where would a be?
Paul said I am what I am because of the grace of God. Therefore I have no room to brag or boast. Because the truth be told we were one light away from getting a DUI. We’re one break away from a fatal accident
We are one hit away from an overdose
But God covered us.
If we were, to be honest, there were some things we did that just didn’t get caught.
Is there anyone glad God covered me?
Don’t look at anybody else, it ain’t everybody's business what he covered you from.
Just say he covered me.
Ephesians 2:8
A woman who was caught in the very act of adultery was shown grace Not what someone spread. She did it
The truth of the matter is that we did some things but he covered us.
So My brothers and sisters as I reading I’ve shown that There are different levels to God's grace
Special Grace and Common Grace
God’s special grace is different from common grace
‌Common grace- retrains sins and their consequences
‌Common grace is God’s general favor by which he restrains sin and its consequences, maintains human life and culture, and bestows a variety of gifts and blessings to all people indiscriminately
‌Common grace extends to all special grace is for the elected.
‌Is there anyone glad God extended me Common grace until I received a special grace
Special grace redeems us back to our place with God
‌William's brother said it like this, Your grace and mercy brought me through I’m living this moment because of you I want to think of you and peace you to your grace and mercy brought me through.
‌I've learned to understand that Grace pertains to God's activity rather than his nature.
Love is God's nature Grace is God's activity
In another word, it's an action word that enables God to confront human rebellion and gives the capacity to forgive and bless
So he chose to be gracious toward us. He doesn't have to be. He has to love us but he chose to be gracious toward us.
That's why Paul said Learned we continue in sin lest grace abounds God forbid. So we must be conscious that God has an option.
He didn't have to do it but he did. He had options. With that, we understand that it could have been another way
In the old testament, God reveals himself as merciful gracious slow to anger, and abounding on steadfast love and faithfulness.
So it is my brothers and sisters no other system or belief emphasizes Grace more than the Bible. Biblically Grace is in 159 verses.
Noah found grace in his eyes
Jacob found grace in
Genesis 33:10
Esau found grace in
Genesis 33:15
‌Shechem found grace in
Genesis 34:11
‌Joesph found grace in gen 39:4 Moses found grace in the exodus
David found grace with his prayer, create in me a clean heart oh God and renew the right spirit My brother's and sisters' grace can be confusing at times because it's not by works.
Romans 11:6
Romans 12:3
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
So we find in the two scriptures read what happens when Grace and time meats.
When Grace and time collies healing takes place. When Grace and time collide deliverance takes place.
And even when we don’t know what God is doing we must understand that at the right time he is going to work it out for our good.
May I suggest to you that Grace is not just an act but the timing of the action?
What would be kind and appropriate in one occasion may be considered inappropriate or distasteful in another that's why Ephesians 3/1 says there is a time and season for everything under the sun. So it's not that God wasn't kind it was just that certain season you had to go through until it was his time
Eccleston 3:11 says he makes everything beautiful in his time
That's why Ephesians 3:11 states that there is a time and season for everything under the sun and when the right time comes in Gods time cant no one prevent it.I came to encourage you that it's your time to experience grace
‌God has a plan. We just can’t miss it. Just because he has not come through when we think we should, how we think he should where we think he should do not mean that he will not come through. He may not come when we want him to come but he’ll be there right on in time.
Come here Dottie people. He’s an on-time God yes he is.
When God shows up he shows up on time and we need to understand that we may not know when he’s going to show up but he’s going to show up. However, my brothers and sister, it's possible for him to finally show up to our situation and we do not even know he is there.
‌My brothers and sisters in the body of Christ we often make references to waiting on God, We use the scripture that they that wait on the lord shall renew their strength they shall run and not be weary they shall walk and not faint they shall mount up with wings as eagles.
‌We use scriptures as in Wait I say on the Lord. My brothers and sister by no means are I telling you not to wait on God. I'll be the first to tell you to wait on the lord and be of courage. I'll be the first to tell you that patience is a virtue. However, I think just as waiting on God is important it's equally important to know when God is shifting some things in your favor, Just as waiting on God is important it is equally important to know when God is shifting your seasons. Too often my brothers and sister and I spend our life waiting and Weiss the train because we are operating and moving on our time.
Too often we miss our moments because we are not able to shift with the timing of God. My brothers and sisters, true enough God doesn’t change, but time does.
‌There was a story of a man who had to catch an 8:01 train. He runs up to the train station and speaks with the staff a the station and asked the staff when does the 8:01 train leave? The worker with a grin on her face gently replied at 8:01. The man said well the clock on the wall says 7:57, and my watch says 7:59. The man replied which time am I going by, The worker replied neither because the 8:01 train has already left.
‌Yes, he is the same today yesterday, and forevermore, but look at somebody and say but yesterday ain’t today, (You will catch it when you get home)
He’s the same but he changes the time yesterday to today, and he changes today to tomorrow.
So he shifts times, and seasons in our life.
We live this life in seasons, often we have good seasons, and sometimes we have not-so-good seasons, someone once said that that’s why we should let our highs get too high or our lows are too low Because God for instance has the power to change your situation. You can be up today and down tomorrow, You can be down today and up tomorrow. You can be weeping today and have joy tomorrow.
‌I heard the songwriter Veshawn Mitchell sing a song that it won't always be like the lord will perfect that which concerneth you, and sooner or later things will turn in your favor.
Do I have anyone who can agree that God can turn something around in your favor, not tomorrow, not next week, but right today?
‌I don’t know what it is that you’re dealing with, But why don’t you open your mouth with a voice of triumph and cry do it, GOD.
God has a way of shifting things in our life when the time is right.
My brothers and sisters the beauty of God’s time is that it has a way of talking without speaking, Time has a way of revealing with showing. Time has a way of showing without telling. There is an old saying that time will tell. That’s why we have to stop wasting time trying to prove ourselves to people who don’t see our value. Stop wasting your energy on folk who can’t see the call and the anointing on your life. Because time will show that even when they misused you, your heart was right, time has a way of showing what we can't gather the words to say.
‌God’s timing, is unexplained, unimagined, and incapable to figure out.
‌It was 40 years for the children of Israel
It was 38 years for the man who sat at the pool of Bethesda.
‌Abrahams was 100 and Sarah was 90 before God gave them what he promisedWhen we are in God’s time we can’t become impatient or forceful. We have to be sure that we don’t interrupt what God is doing but let everything happen in God's time.
The older saints said it like this. He may not come when you want him to come but he will be there right on time…
We can rest assure that he has a plan for our life. He is the creator. He’s not just creative he has ordered everything in our life and we must trust his purpose and his plan
It is remarkable how God can start from scratch and create the heavens and the earth then form the earth from voidness and create everything beautiful, Genesis says he gave light to the earth after he formed it name the light day and name the darkness night. Put a name on 12:01 am and call it morning, figure out when it's 12:01 pm and call it afternoon, realize the sun is going down and call it an evening.
‌My dear friends, God is the master of creation, and although he gives us time. He is not bound by time or controlled by time because he is the creator of it. He creates time, not for his sake but for our sake, yes believe it or not God knew some of us are likely to be late, God knew he had to give some of us time because we would just show up when we wanted to. (Like Some of us did today lol)
So it will work out in his time
Time creates order
‌If there is no time there is no order.
‌That’s why we have time on our work schedule because if they didn’t give us a time we’ll just show up when we want to there will be no order.
Even in the service tonight…the first thing that was asked was what time.
‌Because once you place it in order as to your schedule.
So when things are done in God’s timing it’s done in the order he is a God of order.
‌So when things don’t happen in your time God is just making sure it’s in order.
He places it in order and when it’s your time.
You don’t have to worry about doubters and haters if it’s your time it's your time and God is going to love how he wants to move in your life.So in the text of mark, it displays a timeline of Jesus showing graceContext
In this Gospel we have the wonderful story of God’s Perfect Servant, our Lord Jesus Christ. It is the story of One who laid aside the outward display of His glory in heaven and assumed the form of a Servant on earth (Phil. 2:7). It is the matchless story of One who “did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45).
If we remember that this Perfect Servant was none other than God the Son, and that He willingly girded Himself with the apron of a slave, becoming a Servant of men, Here we see the incarnate Son of God living as a dependent Man on earth. Everything He did was Graceful and in perfect obedience to His Father’s will, and His mighty works were all performed in the power of the Holy Spirit.
The author, John Mark, was a servant of the Lord who started well, went into eclipse for a while (Acts 15:38), and was finally restored to usefulness (2 Tim. 4:11).
Mark’s style is rapid, energetic, and concise. He emphasizes the deeds of the Lord more than His words, evidenced by the fact that he records nineteen miracles, but only four parables.
As we study the Gospel, we shall seek to discover three things: (1) What does it say? (2) What does it mean? (3) What lesson is there in it for me? For all who wish to be true and faithful servants of the Lord, this Gospel should prove a valuable manual of service and Grace.
We find in Mark a storyline of Jesus moving with grace
1.The seas are settled is stilled
2.Cast out demons into the swine
3.On his way to see Jairus daughter
Text‌
A woman that needed grace pressed behind him who had an issue of blood. This women who not experienced much grace in her time. She was often pushed to the side. She was misused abused and confused.
Mark describes a woman with a hermitage who Had spent all she had from doctors to doctors She was considered unclean.
She Was not allowed to participate in ceremonial feasts and sacrifices.
She was an outcast from society.
No one showed her grace.
A certain woman----She was sick for so long that the bible than give her Name. She was known by here issue
Suffered many things. We only know her issue of blood but she suffered many things. People that know one thing. But if you only knows what else he brought me out of. Many physicians- which emphasizes that many attempted to fix what only Jesus can heal. Truth of the matter is we all at one point or another tried to fix someone or tried to get someone else to fix...but some things we just need Jesus Spent all she had----which suggests that she gave out everything and got nothing in return. Anybody ever felt like you are always the one giving out but you remain in the same situation you been in for 12 years The situation grew worse...Sometimes he waits until we lose all we have to show up She heard of Jesus
She heard before she could see him. Some of us looking for a miracle but can you hear. Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God.
After she heard she pressed.
Philippians 3:14
King James Version
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Then she touches
She felt wholw before she became wholeOn top of that, she became financially distressed because she spent all she had on her healing that she didn’t get.
Appointment after appointment. (no insurance in those days)
She did not get better but only grew worse.
For 12 years she suffered from this horrible disease.
Hemmorage for twelve years which means she was constant losing blood. research says that you can only bleed for up to 5 minutes before we die.
According to man she was supposed to been dead. but her will and determination motivated her to push there was people who went through what you went through but didnt make it. There were people you went to school with you hung out with that went through what you went through but is not here. If your still here. It’s your time to experience Grace. You are here for a purpose. There is destiny attached to your life and God is getting ready to make you whole.
I believe she heard of the demons being cast out. I believe she had heard of the miracles before and decided she would press to experience the healing grace of Jesus.
She did not miss the miracle of the moment.
We have to learn to catch the grace of the time because there’s a miracle when the beauty of God’s timing meets Grace.
Question to ask the text:
‌How many people did she see healed in the 12 years?
How many times did she think about giving up in those 12 years?
‌How many people were left out of her life in those 12 years
‌How many people gave up on her in those 12 years
‌But it took 12 years
12 years In perspective
12 years ago the iPhone 4 was released
‌12 years ago the first iPad was released
‌12 years ago Uber went live for the first time
‌12 years ago Lebron left his Cavs and went to the heat
12 years ago Instagram launched
‌Is there anyone in here that can say? I refused to let all these things change in 12 years and I remain the same.
‌I decree and declare that it’s my time for grace.
‌She had to press herself to grace.
‌She has to move around the crowd to get to grace.
Whatever you got to do…don’t miss grace
She did not let it pass by. She said if I could just touch the hem of his garment I will be made whole.
She made up her mind it was her time to experience grace.
This woman with this issue don’t get the credit she deserves.
She kept going until she got What she needed.
She touched his garment and she was made whole.
Christ sees the invisible grace in its hidden operations; man only sees its effects, and not always these.
She was fear and trembling when Jesus asked who touched me. She felt bad for her healing. I came to encourage you dont feel bad about what God is doing and about to do in your life.
If anybody ask about it just say
I found grace.
Closing
What's your issue
Dont stop pressing because you have some issues.
Keep coming with your issue.
Not only was she healed but she was made whole.
My brothers and sister I came to encourage those who have issues like this woman. It may not be an issue of blood. But whatever your issue it its your time to experience Grace.
Issues of sickness its your time of grace.
Issues of stress but it’s your time for grace.
Issues of family problems but its your time for grace.
Issues of relationship problems but its your time for grace.
Issues of financial problems but it’s your time for grace.
Issues of depression but it’s your time for grace.
Issues of grieving but it’s your time for grace.
So what did this woman do when it was her time to experience grace. The bible said, She heard of Jesus, She pressed to Get to Jesus, then she experience grace.
You’ve heard, press and touch I’m not talking about a natural touch but some of us need a spiritual touch. IF you want to experience grace.
Hear, press, touch.
Hear, press, touch.
Hear, press, touch.
Hear, press, touch.
Alter Call:
Growing up I always though God was looking to find fault in us
I’ve came to the realization that it’s not the purpose of Jesus to accuse us he defends us.
Revelations 12:10 calls satan the accuser
Satan’s primary goals is to accuse us, laying before us all of our sins in hopes that we will sink deeper into despair.
God wants to forgive us but Satan wants to condemn us.
When we understand this we can understand why Paul says that we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against spiritual wickedness in high places.
We have to understand that it is Satan’s job to accuse you. That’s why the Bible says lest satan should get an advantage of us we are not ignorant of his devised.
That’s what its just as important for us to stay before God because the enemy is defiantly staying before God with accusations against you.
