Paul says “I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
Along the way as you strive to persevere, Satan will entice you with things specifically designed for you to throw you off course
That’s why in Eph 6 we need our shield of faith to extinguish or quench the fiery darts of Satan (the game is called darts not dart)
Paul says we are not ignorant of Satan’s methods (2 Cor.2)
Several examples
The Apostle Paul
The Apostle Paul
“I myself was convinced that I ought to do many things in opposing the name of Jesus of Nazareth.
No one can say “Hey. Paul - you don’t really believe that do you?
There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.
Do you see a man who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.
Vital Thought #1: Just because you want a thing to be true, does not make it true.
Vital Thought #1: Just because you want a thing to be true, does not make it true.
You ever believe something so strongly that even when you’re faced with proof to the contrary you refuse to let it go
Why - it’s just too real
King Saul
King Saul
The word of the Lord came to Samuel: “I regret that I have made Saul king, for he has turned back from following me and has not performed my commandments.” And Samuel was angry, and he cried to the Lord all night.
And Saul said to Samuel, “I have obeyed the voice of the Lord. I have gone on the mission on which the Lord sent me. I have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and I have devoted the Amalekites to destruction.
For rebellion is as the sin of divination, and presumption is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, he has also rejected you from being king.”
Be careful not to create you own standard of what is right and what is moral
Woman caught in adultery in John eight.
Jesus did not condemn the woman Nor did he condone her behavior (Go AND SIN NO MORE)
Transgression speaks to the wicked deep in his heart; there is no fear of God before his eyes. For he flatters himself in his own eyes that his iniquity cannot be found out and hated.
The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice.

Vital Thought #2: There is a major difference between doing what you WANT to do and doing what is RIGHT to do.
Vital Thought #2: There is a major difference between doing what you WANT to do and doing what is RIGHT to do.
Your drive, desire, and motivation to do something should be because it’s the right thing to do not because you feel that way, but because it’s in accordance with God’s word
One’s desire to get revenge is a real thing
We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,
Vital Thought #3: God is not going to change what is right to make it align with how we feel.
Vital Thought #3: God is not going to change what is right to make it align with how we feel.
The works of his hands are faithful and just; all his precepts are trustworthy; they are established forever and ever, to be performed with faithfulness and uprightness.
For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body.
When thoughts come into your heart, ask yourself is it God’s will. These thoughts may be real, but they may not be right
