Perhaps one of the reasons we are hesitant to talk about our “love needs” is because we carry such significant disappointments related to love. We have “father/mother wounds” “church hurt” and these wounds from our past (along with everything else we have experienced in life) affect how we respond to others now. We may not want to believe that. We may assume that the past is simply the past and we are “over” all that. We ignore that reality to our own peril.
