For decades now, sex has been synonymous with freedom and liberation in the West. Through multiple ‘revolutions’, we have thrown off the shackles of traditional convention and thrown open the doors to unrestrained sexual expression. Anyone who has opposed this ‘progress’ has been labelled a prude or an old maid, and asked to get out of the way. But if you peak beneath the surface of this ‘freedom’, you’ll find all sorts of imprisonment – more than enough to make us question whether it is freedom at all. And more than enough to make us wonder whether true freedom wasn’t in the defining boundaries all along.
