Gospel Thankfulness

“Hear our prayer, O Lord; let our cries come to you!

Do not hide your face from us in the day of our distress;

Incline your ear to us; answer us speedily in the day when we call” (Ps. 102:1-2)

We thank you that we can come to you, not merely as people begging for your ear and for your attention. We thank you that we can come to you as sons and daughters in Christ Jesus.

Thank you for Christ and his life, his death and his resurrection. Without that, we would not be able to be sons and daughters of you, the great King.

We come boldly before your throne with many petitions, some shared and some hidden that you who searches the heart knows....

Petitions of the Crossing

We pray for all the singles of the crossing in particular today…Being single can be hard but it can also be easy in a world that teaches us to live for ourselves and in a culture that devalues marriage…

We pray for contentment in the circumstances in which you have placed each and every one of us, but especially our singles. We pray to resist the temptation to overvalue and idolize marriage as a “savior” in our lives or as something that we think cannot be lived without. We pray also against the temptation to think that marriage is nothing more a social contract of convenience. We pray that you guard the hearts of those who are single here at the Crossing that they may look to you and your word to help navigate through this phase of their lives whether it be temporary or a life-long gift.

We pray also for the young adults of the Crossing.... we pray that you continue to shape and mold them as disciples of Jesus. We pray for wisdom as they continue to go through life and gain experience. We pray for their protection, that you would keep evil far from them. We pray that you keep them, and us all, from the extremes that our society pushes us to. Rather, help us to live in your Word and to use that as a lens through which we view our world through. Help them to gain favor through their good works that you might be praised and that the gospel might we shared and witnessed to.

We pray also for our own discipleship efforts as we prepare to phase into community groups. Help us with the transition and with the fellowship of them. Give us wisdom in implementation and in sustaining them.

We pray also for our upcoming outreach event at the end of the month and cookout. Lord, let us know but a taste of the fellowship and communion to come in the New Heavens and New Earth that we already have in Christ. Help us to know the fellowship we have with you and one another.

Health Needs

Lastly, we come to you with our sufferings.... we all suffer in different ways but you are with us uniquely in them. Help us to find fellowship with you in the sufferings that you sovereignly ordain to come into our lives for you glory.

We think of Grace and the entire Pozos family as she prepares for surgery. Grant peace to the entire Pozos family, to Gama and the kids. Prepare Gama as he prepares to care for Grace and the kids.

We also pray for Sofia Aleman. Grant her the healing that she needs

for Becky’s friends in Cuba and their situation that you know
