Natalie’s announcement

Recap of last week

It was crazy after we officially dismissed. We had some people that were sharing what they felt like the Lord was saying. It was so powerful.
We talked about Intimacy with the Lord. Does anyone have something to share about spending time with God and what they felt like the Lord was sharing with them? Keep it to two minutes.

Intro

Smelling dead things at the church and then what the Lord began to show me
There are things in your life that will either die and wither away like when I first got saved. I had a foul mouth.
Then there are things that you know need to go. Holy spirit is tugging on your heart and you just need to submit to that.
I am reminded of the story of Lazarus. I mean we can’t talk about dead things in our life without mentioning ol Lazarus.
John 11:38–44 ESV
38 Then Jesus, deeply moved again, came to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone lay against it. 39 Jesus said, “Take away the stone.” Martha, the sister of the dead man, said to him, “Lord, by this time there will be an odor, for he has been dead four days.” 40 Jesus said to her, “Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?” 41 So they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42 I knew that you always hear me, but I said this on account of the people standing around, that they may believe that you sent me.” 43 When he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out.” 44 The man who had died came out, his hands and feet bound with linen strips, and his face wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Unbind him, and let him go.”
We know that 1 Cor 5:17 says that if anyone is in Christ they are a new creation in christ Jesus. Old things have passed away, behold all things have become new
You accept Jesus and are born again but you might have some things that represent Grave clothes that you need to get rid of.
John 15:1–4 ESV
1 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.
As I prayed there were 3 branches that I felt like the Lord wanted to trim

Branch of Religion

Dead religion is found within a set of guidelines and rules without relationship. It reminds me of 2 Tim
2 Timothy 3:1–5 ESV
1 But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. 2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, 4 treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.

He will replace it with a branch of True Worship

Religion is how Good you can be. It’s all about you but worship takes your eyes off of yourself and puts it on God.
1 Chronicles 16:23–31 ESV
23 Sing to the Lord, all the earth! Tell of his salvation from day to day. 24 Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples! 25 For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and he is to be feared above all gods. 26 For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols, but the Lord made the heavens. 27 Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and joy are in his place. 28 Ascribe to the Lord, O families of the peoples, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength! 29 Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; bring an offering and come before him! Worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness; 30 tremble before him, all the earth; yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved. 31 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice, and let them say among the nations, “The Lord reigns!”

God wants to trim the branch of performance

In my Zeal for the Lord I can want to make things happen.
God doesn’t need your help.
In John 5:19 the bible talks about Jesus only doing what he sees that father in heaven doing.

God wants to replace with a branch of abiding.

1 John 2:6 ESV
6 whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.
John 8:31 ESV
31 So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples,
Galatians 2:20 ESV
20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Abiding means to reside, remain or stay.

Call the worship team up

God wants to trim the branch of independence

John 15:5 ESV
5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
We live in a society that is preaching tolerance. You can do whatever you want to do and it’s crept it’s way into the church.
There is this term of deconstructing faith. Where someone will tear apart of what they believe and I don’t think it’s wrong to know why you believe what you believe but people are picking things that are suppose to be there and taking them out.

Replacing with a branch of complete dependance.

Acts 17:24 TPT “The true God is the Creator of all things. He is the owner and Lord of the heavenly realm and the earthly realm, and he doesn’t live in man-made temples. 25He supplies life and breath and all things to every living being. He doesn’t lack a thing that we mortals could supply for him, for he has all things and everything he needs. 26From one man, Adam, he made every man and woman and every race of humanity, and he spread us over all the earth. He sets the boundaries of people and nations, determining their appointed times in history. 17:26 The Aramaic adds an interesting nuance: “He commands the separation of the seasons and sets the lifespan of every person.” 27He has done this so that every person would long for God, feel their way to him, 17:27 The Aramaic is “investigating him in his creation.” and find him—for he is the God who is easy to discover! 17:27 Or “the God who is not far from each one of us.” 28It is through him that we live and function and have our identity
