I. Dull Hearing Leads to Dull Living vs. 11

A. There was a lot more that the writer could say, but they couldn’t handle it nor understand it.
B. To be dull of hearing means they were lazy. They didn’t study. Not that they couldn’t understand, but that they didn’t even try.
C. This is sadly the norm, for todays Christian. We should be growing deeper and wider. That means we get deeper in Scriptures, knowing more and more, while at the same time we reach wider and love more. TV preachers do not get deep on tv since the target audience is those who’ve never heard, but listen to some of their other teaching, where they get deep. (Charles Stanley Revelation ex)

II. Regression Leads to Oppression vs. 12-14

A. These Christians should have grown, but refused to. These Baby Huey Christians are still babies by choice.
B. We can tell by the poor attitudes of those who would be leaders or sadly in some cases they are leaders. How you respond and act shows how you mature you really are. “Some pastors believe that we should avoid delving too deeply into theology for fear that it might drive people away. However, the deeper we go in our study of theology, the deeper we go in our knowledge of God, awe of God, love of God, humility before God, and worship of God.
C. In order to grow you put these spiritual disciplines into practice. You get everything in order. You’re in the word, you pray constantly, you let the Holy Spirit and the word work in you! In doing this your life gets in order, but it doesn’t make it easy.
D. Then you can tell what’s of God, what is of the flesh, and what is of the devil.
