Reading of the word

Mark 14:32–39 NKJV
Then they came to a place which was named Gethsemane; and He said to His disciples, “Sit here while I pray.” And He took Peter, James, and John with Him, and He began to be troubled and deeply distressed. Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch.” He went a little farther, and fell on the ground, and prayed that if it were possible, the hour might pass from Him. And He said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.” Then He came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “Simon, are you sleeping? Could you not watch one hour? Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Again He went away and prayed, and spoke the same words.

Part 1

One writer said that life is like an onion. The more you pill it, the more it will make you cry. I have came to the conclusions that the harsh reality that our days unfold, the closer we get to our place, promise and destiny, it appears that we will have to encounter, endure, more pressures, more pain that seeks to prevent us to getting where God really want us to be. And the true of the matter tonight, some stuff that we have to face and deal with is not always of demonic but of the divine. There are times that God will give each of us an assignment that are so agonizing, so difficult, so daring, so Tulsa, so tough that it looks like doing the will of God is an impossibility. Because if you be real tonight, if you just be real for a moment there’s somebody who is sitting in this sanctuary that can testify what God is calling you to  seems like it is crushing you, I mean it has crushed your faith in him, it has crushed your faithfulness for him, it has crushed your fruitfulness for him, But yet the good news tonight, while all of us odd to give God praise and give God the glory because our lord and liberator, Jesus christ show us that it is possible survive when it seems as life is getting the best of you. Only if you maintain your dialogue with the divine. All I’m trying to tell you tonight, prayer will give you strength to keep on going when you feel like quitting.
I believe there are some people sitting in this church tonight who can testify the only reason why you are sitting in church tonight:
Is not because you are so good,
Not because you have dotted every eye, and crossed every Tee,
but is somebody in this house tonight that can give God praise and can give God the glory because you learn how to fall down on bending knees and talk to the lord. (quick pause)
I just need 7 of y’all and I make 8 who can testify, I an’t good, I an’t done everything right, but thanks be to God I can fall down on my knees and talk to the Lord.
The Old church use to say it like this: HAVE a little talk with Jesus, and tell him about your troubles, He will hear you famous cry and answer by and by. (5 sec)
See the problem is that we do more pouting than we do praying. (quick pause)
We pout about what we got to go through,
we pout able what we got to deal with,
we pout about what we got to face and what we got to fight,
but the truth of the matter tonight, what we should be doing is talking to the lord.
Do me a favor and high five somebody and tell them what every you do, learn how to talk to the Lord. (5 sec & talk)

Gas-sent-ma-e

When we look at our text tonight Jesus has already set his face toward Jerusalem, He’s just finished celebrating the passover meal with this disciples and after the passover meal he leave the disciples to his prayer closet which is located at the foot of Mt olivi at a place called Gas-sent-ma-e. It is  Gas-sent-ma-e known to be an Olivi press. It is where they would come and crush and press the olives to get out of them what was in them.
Maybe you don’t want to shout about this, but all of us in this church tonight have to experience our own Gas-sent-ma-e. All of us in here have been crushed and been pressed.
I just need a few people in here tonight that will be real and can say that I’ve been to Gas-sent-ma-e before. The truth of the matter is there are about 9 of us and I make 10 who can be real and say brother preacher I’m in Gas-sent-ma-e right now.
It looks like I am catching it from all directions, from the left to the right.
It looks like I got more downs than I got ups,
looks like I got more enemies than I got friends,
but can I tell you why you odd to shout, that means God has something great deposited in you.
He had to take you to Gas-sent-ma-e so he could get something to come out of you. My God. This is why we odd to shout tonight, because God sends us to our own crushing places to get out of us what he has deposit into us.
