Everyone pictures Jesus differently but how do you see him.
Talk about the conversation I had with Jason
Although I agree with my friend Jason that the world paints Jesus as a mambsi pansie if we truly understood the power of the lamb you would understand that it’s not really weak. But this week, let’s focus on the lion.
The Lion of Judah
The Lion of Judah
1 Then I saw a scroll in the right hand of the one who was sitting on the throne. There was writing on the inside and the outside of the scroll, and it was sealed with seven seals. 2 And I saw a strong angel, who shouted with a loud voice: “Who is worthy to break the seals on this scroll and open it?” 3 But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll and read it.
4 Then I began to weep bitterly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll and read it. 5 But one of the twenty-four elders said to me, “Stop weeping! Look, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the heir to David’s throne, has won the victory. He is worthy to open the scroll and its seven seals.”
We all know that the Lion is the king of the jungle. But we also know that God established the kings to come through the tribe of Judah.
Jesus is our commander in chief.
Jesus is our commander in chief.
I want you to see Jesus as a warrior. One who fights for you. He never sleeps nor slumbers.
11 Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war. 12 His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems, and he has a name written that no one knows but himself. 13 He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God. 14 And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, were following him on white horses. 15 From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. 16 On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.
I’m in the Lords army-Yes Sir
I don’t know about you but Marvel couldn’t even depict a better super hero than this.
Robe dipped in blood
Let’s look at another verse of our king
13 The Lord goes out like a mighty man,
like a man of war he stirs up his zeal;
he cries out, he shouts aloud,
he shows himself mighty against his foes.
11 But the Lord is with me as a dread warrior;
therefore my persecutors will stumble;
they will not overcome me.
They will be greatly shamed,
for they will not succeed.
Their eternal dishonor
will never be forgotten.

Set the stage for the story
The Israelites were in a face-off against the Philistines.
There was a warrior on the side of the Philistines named Goliath. He was 9 feet tall and had over 125 lbs of armor on that was made of bronze. His spear was 15 lbs.
He would come out every day for 40 days and taunt the army of the Israelites. He made a deal that if there was one warrior that would defeat him they would be their slaves but if Goliath won the Israelites would be their slaves.
So David is out delivering lunch to his brothers and sees Goliath and says this 1 Sam 17:26
26 And David said to the men who stood by him, “What shall be done for the man who kills this Philistine and takes away the reproach from Israel? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?”
David understood who his God was and what he was capable of. But not only that but he understood what God’s desire was for the children of Israel.
Is God for you?
Is God for you?
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
Let’s have a heavenly perspective.
Let’s have a heavenly perspective.
17 Then Elisha prayed and said, “O Lord, please open his eyes that he may see.” So the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
How to do damage to the enemy.
How to do damage to the enemy.
You don’t have to chase the devil to kick him in the teeth. You can kick him in the teeth by living a righteous life.
You can kick him in the teeth by winning people to the Lord. Sneak behind enemy lines to rescue those who are bound.
He is the Lion because he became the Lamb.
He is the Lion because he became the Lamb.
John the baptist said it perfectly. Behold, the lamb who takes away the sins of the world.
