The Lord’s Prayer
Our- community
Father- Relationship
In heaven placement and position
Hollowth be thy name- adoration
Thy kingdom come- anticipation
Thy will be done consecration
On earth- determination
As it is in heaven- conformation
Give us this day our daily bread- desperation
Now we are at Forgive us.
Notice the next words in our text
Forgive us as we forgive.
We see here that forgiveness and connected to forgiving.
Turn with me to Luke 6:37
So for one to be forgiven and released from their debt try must find and forgive other.
Judge not and you will not be judge.
Now this judgment point to the words in our prayer.
Debts.
Forgive us from our debt.
Listen there was a debt you owned that no man could pay.
And the only way that this debt would be paid and stop you from going to the place called hell.
Is if God himself paid this death that you could not.
I got good news for you this morning.
I hear the Savior say,
“Thy strength indeed is small;
Child of weakness, watch and pray,
Find in Me thine all in all.”
Refrain
Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.
For nothing good have I
Whereby Thy grace to claim,
I’ll wash my garments white
In the blood of Calv’ry’s Lamb.
Ransom mean this.
That debt that you made Christ paid.
Jesus himself went to hell for you.
The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.
Notice the idea of giving..
naturally when we think of giving we often time think of money.
why money?
because it is the most common way that we assess value to a thing.
How much something is worth is valued by how much someone will give for said thing.
when we think of humans or of life money is an inadequate measure of evaluation
that why the practice of buying and selling humans is not only inhuman but illegal (in most place)
What are you saying Pastor D? im, saying that is you accumulated all the money in the world, it would still not equal the value of one human heart.
So, He didnt give silver, He didnt give gold, He didnt give cattle or oxen, He gave His Life for ransom.
When i think of a random i think of someone being held against their will and they are totally reliant on someone else to do what they cannot.
a slave.
Jesus tell them yes you need to pray to be forgiven but in that same manner pray that you can forgive
if one is freed from sin.. they must have been a slave to it..
Same with unforgiveness.
Listen, you have not just been forgiven, you have been released to forgive.
Freely you have received, freely give.
Matthew 10:8
YOU CAN FORGIVE..
GOD WILL GIVE YOU GRACE TO FORGIVE
GOD WILL HELP YOU!
Jesus teaches us to pray for the Father’s help, because our life depends on it.
You must forgive.
When you big debt has been forgiven.
Other debt to you should lose all comparisons.
