Now in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplying, there arose a complaint against the Hebrews by the Hellenists, because their widows were neglected in the daily distribution. Then the twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said, “It is not desirable that we should leave the word of God and serve tables. Acts 6:1-2

But we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” Acts 6:4

Ministry problems are more spiritual than we realize.

When we neglect devotion our distribution will suffer.

Ministry is an overflow of relationship with God.

Vashti Church

Vashti did not go into the presence when commanded. Esther went into the presence uninvited

Vashti prepared a feast for women. Esther led women to fast

Vashti loved the palace. Esther loved the presence

Vashti lost her crown. Esther saved her nation

Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent. Revelation 2:4-5

Busyness make it easier to slack in prayer.

Devotional life should never be delegated.

Make time to be with God because being with God will save time.

Prayer does not take time, prayer saves time.

But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.” And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:40-42

ONE THING WE NEED is to enjoy God and eating from His word.

Prayer becomes a delight when you go there to be with God instead of looking for God.

There is difference between reading the Bible and eating the Bible.

Don’t skip your prayer because you slipped.

Work should flow out of worship.

PRESENCE > progress

PEOPLE > projects

PEACE > pressure

New seasons require new systems.

New season is limited by an old structure.

Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins, or else the wineskins break, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.” Matthew 9:17

New season with old systems will spoil success.

Both you and these people who are with you will surely wear yourselves out. For this thing is too much for you; you are not able to perform it by yourself. Exodus 18:18

Growth requires change. Change is painful.

If this season is burdening you, change the system.

If you don’t have boundaries, you will have burdens.

Secure leaders empower others, insecure leaders control others.

Those faithful in small will be entrusted with more

Global reach “the word of God spread”

Increase in impact “number of the disciples multiplied greatly”

Reaching new territories “great numbers of priests were obedient to faith"

When you’re faithful with the widows, God will make the priests be obedient to faith.
