POWERED BY PENTECOST
Fossil fuel power plants burn coal or oil to create heat which is in turn used to generate steam to drive turbines which generate electricity.
Most large hydroelectric power plants generate electricity by storing water in vast reservoirs behind dams. Water from the reservoirs flows through turbines to generate electricity.
Nuclear power reactors use the heat produced from splitting atoms to generate steam to drive a turbine.
Renewables, such as wind, solar and small-scale hydro, produce electricity but they do not produce electricity predictably or consistently due to their inherent reliance on the weather.
Here are some quick facts from the Tri-City Development Council website:
The Grand Coulee Dam on Washington’s Columbia River is the largest hydroelectric power producer in the United States, with a total generating capacity of 6,809 megawatts. In 2015, Washington was the leading producer of electricity from hydroelectric sources and accounted for 30% of the nation’s utility-scale net hydroelectricity generation. Although not a crude oil producing state, Washington ranked fifth in the nation in crude oil refining capacity as of January 2016. Washington ranked ninth in the nation in net generation of electricity from wind energy in 2015. In 2015, Washington had the lowest average residential retail electricity prices in the nation and the lowest average combined retail electricity price across all sectors.

Our purpose is powered by the pentecost
But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8
We can’t get more of the Spirit but we can know the Holy Spirit more.
We can’t receive more of the Holy Spirit but we can release more of the Holy Spirit.
We received Holy Spirit at salvation.
We must release Holy Spirit by surrender, speaking and sharing. (John 7:38-39).
Surrender to the Holy Spirit
Substitutional death gave me salvation. Substitutional life gives me transformation (Gal.2:20)
Law demanded, grace supplied. (Ex. 32:28; Acts 2:41)
Walk in the Spirit to not fulfill lust of the flesh (Gal. 5:16). One thing is needed. Can’t shove darkness.
Speaking in tongues
Brings rest and refreshing (Is. 28:11-12)
Builds our faith (Jude 1:20)
Worship God (John 4:24; Acts 10:46)
Blesses God, Sing, Give Thanks (1 Cor. 14:15)
Make intercession (Rom. 8:26)
Sharing the good news
You can get into a lot of trouble by running your mouth (Tony gas station).
Power of life and death is in the tongue (Prov. 18:21)
God spoke and Spirit made chaos into creation.
Jonah preached bad news and people got saved (Johah 1:3).
Lo is for those who go (Matt. 28:19-20) For full time Christians.
Supernatural expectation
Make room for the holy spirit by praying bold prayers.
Don’t limit the Spirit by small dreams.
Make space for the for the supernatural by expecting big things.
Yes, again and again they tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel. They did not remember His power: The day when He redeemed them from the enemy, Psalm 78:41-42
Believers prayed for boldness not safety (Acts 4:29)
It costs you nothing to believe but it means a lot to the Holy Spirit if you do.
