Diet, they feed on Scriptures Devotion, they follow the Holy Spirit Discipline, they forsake sin Discipleship, they fish for souls & feed the lamb

1. Disciple FEEDS on the Holy Scriptures

Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. John 8:31

We don’t read the Bible only to learn the Bible but to learn obedience.

Though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. Hebrews 5:8

Bible is not for learning but for living.

Bible is not for degree but for development.

Bible is not given to increase our knowledge but to increase our love.

Bible is given so that we love God, not love the Bible.

“Clean Your Room” I memorized it what you said to me. I can say “go clean your room” in greek. My friends and I will gather to study what it would look like if I would clean my room.

Disciple is not someone who loves the word but someone who loves the Lord.

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. Matthew 28:19-20

“MOST CHRISTIANS ARE EDUCATED WAY BEYOND THEIR LEVEL OF OBEDIENCE”

When you’re educated beyond your obedience you become spiritually obese.

2. Disciple FOLLOWS the Holy Spirit.

Then Jesus said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men.” They immediately left their nets and followed Him. Mark 1:17-18

And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever John 14:16

Allos means "another of the same kind," as in "I enjoyed that sandwich; I think I'll have another.”

Heteros means "another kind," as in, "This wrench doesn't fit; bring me another one.”

The Holy Spirit wants to be to you what Jesus was to disciples.

Every believer can hear the Holy Spirit but it takes a disciple to heed the Holy Spirit. (Mike Story)

Obedience is the price for friendship with the Holy Spirit

You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. John 15:14

3. Disciple FORSAKES that which hinders their follow.

Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. Matthew 16:24

Then Jesus said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men.” They immediately left their nets and followed Him. Mark 1:17-18

Who you follow will decide what you forsake.

Devotion to Jesus determines what I deny.

Your obedience will choose your sacrifice.

Discipline is not the goal of discipleship, devotion is!

If Christ is the goal, cross will become the result.

Discipleship is about devotion that decides your discipline.

Buddha said this about discipline.

“To conquer oneself is a greater victory than to conquer thousands in a battle.”

“He is able who thinks he is able.”

“The wise are disciplined in body, speech, and mind. They are well controlled indeed.”

“A disciplined mind brings happiness.”\“No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path.”

“The person who masters himself through self-control and discipline is truly undefeatable.”

“To enjoy good health. To bring true happiness to one’s family. To bring peace to all, one must first discipline and control own’s own mind.”

Jesus didn’t invite people to discipline but to devotion.
