HOUSE WITH A HARVEST
Salvation of people testimonies!
But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” Mat. 9:36-38
Jesus is the head of the house, the Holy Spirit is the Lord of the harvest.
JESUS is the head of the Church Ephesians 5:23; head over all things
THE HOLY SPIRIT is the Lord of the harvest. Testifies of Christ John 15:26; convicts of sin John 16:8; glorifies Christ John 16:14; empowers a believer to witness Acts 1:8
He is the unnamed servant with gifts seeking to bring Bride to Isaac!
It’s about the HARVEST, not just the HANG OUT!
It’s about the FIELDS, not just the FELLOWSHIP!
The Holy Spirit sends laborers into harvest field
*Send - to cast out, drive out, to send out with notion of violence, to drive out (cast out) to cast out of the world, to expel a person from a society: to banish...
Believers get demons out of people, the Holy Spirit gets believers out of the house.
The Lord of the Harvest provides:
Tools (Acts 1:8) Food (John 4:34) Rewards (Proverbs 11:30 wisdom // 1 Thessalonians 2:19-20 crown of rejoicing)
2. We are not a house with a backyard, we are house with a harvest.
Backyard is having an outreach program with an outlook problem.
Backyard mindset = limited vision, enough for my needs and wants.
Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest! John 4:35
Harvest is bigger than the house.
Father’s field doesn’t end where my comfort ends.
Father’s field doesn’t end where my capabilities end.
Father’s field doesn’t end where my vision ends.
Property line of Father’s field is “whoever” (John 3:16), “desires for all men to be saved” (1 Timothy 2:4), “not willing for any should perish, desiring that all to come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9).
Toyota center can’t fit harvest!
Harvest is more urgent than the house.
Be ashamed you farmers. Wail, you vine dressers, for the wheat and the barley; because the harvest of the field has perished. Joel 1:11
Touch ups, small things there and there, furnishing can wait. Time wouldn’t kill it.
House is cleaner because of the harvest.
Reaping the harvest is more important than cleaning the house.
Unity is result of mission minded not unity minded.
Unity exists through unified goals. Unity is as good as our commitment to those goals.
3. The harvest is the reward of Jesus’ sufferings.
*To reap the harvest is to suffer or benefit as a result of past actions; to experience the consequences of some previous action or past event; to reap a crop such as corn means to cut and gather it
He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. Isaiah 53:11
Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession. Psalm 2:8
And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; for You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, Revelation 5:9
Count Nicolaus Ludwig Von Zinzendorf saw painting “I have done this for you; what have you done for me?
1727 24hr prayer watch, unbroken for 100 years. 300 started,
1792, 65 years later, send 300 missionaries.
First two missionaries headed for West Indies (20/29 first missionaries died first few years).
“MAY THE LAMB THAT WAS SLAIN RECEIVE THE REWARD OF HIS SUFFERING.”
Lessons from Moravian Movement:
1. Missions begin and end in prayer.
It’s impossible to touch God’s heart in prayer and not touch His heart for missions.
2. Missions is a lifestyle not a trip.
3. Missions is about Jesus.
1973 non stop prayer David Cho. Church grew. 1999 IHOP started similar thing “fire on the altar should never go out”.
Your salvation is Jesus’ reward.
Jesus is ready.
You are ripe.
