Your mind doesn’t change when your life gets better. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2
Your life is always moving in the direction of your strongest thoughts.
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Joshua 1:8
Mind management is the priority of the overcomer because winning starts not around us but within us.
7 Types of Minds:
Right mind Then they came to Jesus, and saw the one who had been demon-possessed and had the legion, sitting and clothed and in his right mind. And they were afraid. Mark 5:15 Sober-minded but hospitable, a lover of what is good, sober-minded, just, holy, self-controlled, Titus 1:8 Sound mind For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:8
Spiritually minded For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace Romans 8:6 You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Isaiah 26:3
Anxious mind “And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. Luke 12:29
Debased mind And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; Romans 1:28 Rejected, reprobate, castaway, not standing the test, not approved, that which doesn’t prove itself such as it ought.
Carnal mind For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. Romans 8:6
*We are either CAPTIVE to our thoughts or keep our thoughts CAPTIVE.
Mother threw garbage into salad, “I know but I thought that if you don’t mind garbage in your mind, you certainly would not mind a little in your stomach”
1. You can’t change your mind without taking responsibly for your thoughts.
2. Take care of your brain. Your mind does the thinking. Your brain is what you think with. Relationship between brain and mind is like between piano and pianist. Exercise. Sleep. Eat plant based foods, whole grains, fish, healthily fats as olive oil. Less meat.
3. Get out of your head. You have thoughts but you are not your thoughts. You are doing the thinking, the thinking shouldn’t do you! Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. Philippians 4:8 For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. Proverbs 23:7
4. Capture thoughts before you can make them captive.
above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; Ephesians 6:16-17
Before we can take our thoughts captive, we first have to be aware of them.
5. Don’t focus on emptying your mind, fill it with truth. Don’t be passive, get active. Nourish your mind with truth of Gods word. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night. Psalm 1:2 Eastern meditation empties the mind. Christian meditation fills the mind.  Eastern meditation is detachment. Christian meditation is an attachment to God. Eastern meditation is passive. Christian meditation is aggressive. Eastern meditation is demonic. Christian meditation is Holy Spirit-filled and inspired. Study. Read. Listen. Meditate. Memorize. Confess Scriptures. As you fill your conscious mind with the Scripture, it will spill into your subconscious mind.
6. Take every thought captive like prisoner of war.
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 2 Corinthians 10:5-6
Every stronghold has an occupant. Thoughts of loneliness lead to spirit of loneliness.
Don’t a knife to gun fight. Choose mighty weapons against this war.
Weapons aren’t carnal.
Take thoughts captive
Cast down thoughts of arguments and exalted thing.
We can demolish every deceptive fantasy that opposes God and break through every arrogant attitude that is raised up in defiance of the true knowledge of God. We capture, like prisoners of war, every thought and insist that it bow in obedience to the Anointed One. 2 Corinthians 10:5
Demolish deceptive FANTASY that opposes God
Break through arrogant ATTITUDE that is raised up in defiance of the true knowledge of God
CAPTURE EVERY THOUGHT like prisoners of war
INSIST that THOUGHTS bow in obedience to Christ
Court-Martial - a judicial court for trying members of the armed services accused of offenses against military law.
