Let Us Pray In Jesus' Name - John 16:23-28
I. Pray Humbly
- A. We are unworthy. (Psalm 95:6).
- B. Jesus is our only access. (I Tim. 2:5-6).
II. Pray Comfortably
- A. The old barrier is gone. (Heb. 9:7-12; Matt. 27:50-51).
- B. We have a new access through Jesus. (Heb. 10:19-22; Acts 4:12).
III. Pray Submissively
- A. Don't forge Jesus' name. (Jer. 29:9; Matt. 24:5; John 14:13-14).
- B. Come as a trusting child.
- C. Ask within God's will. (I John 5:14-15).
How?
- 1. Learn His will (the Bible).
- 2. Ask the Holy Spirit for help. (Rom. 8:26-27).
- 3. Seek to live in His will. (Col. 3:17; Jn. 15:7; 16; I Jn. 3:21-22).
- 4. Pray as Jesus prayed. (Luke 22:42).
IV. Pray Confidently (Heb. 4:14-16; II Cor. 12:8-9; I Sam. 17:45).
- Let's pray together in Jesus' name. (Matt. 18:19-20).
- Let's go to God to have life !
