Be careful what you wish for

Distracted by a desire for Different

Vs. 12-13
The youngest Son wanted “different”.
Maybe he was tired of living under his father’s rules.
Maybe he wanted to experience life beyond his hometown.
Maybe he felt he was ready to handle life on his own.
He just wanted “different”. Be careful about chasing what appears to be better.

Don’t Settle for less that who you were born to be

vs. 14-16
The son wasted all that he had with “reckless living: them began to settle for a life that was below who he was born to be.
He took a job working for someone else although at his father’s house people worked for him.
He fed pigs which was a no-no for his culture.
His decisions put him in a bad situation
You weren’t born to be a slave, you were born to be a son…

You can always come back home

vs. 17-20
The son walked home practicing his “pig pen presentation”
The father was waiting…
The father was willing to accept his son back home...
-He felt compassion...
-He ran...
-He embraced...
-He kissed…
The son was still covered in the stuff he had been surrounded by.
Your father doesn’t care what you looking like, He just wants you home.
