Intro

continuing the story
Paul telling his own to the crowd trying to kill him
what is your story? what do you think that is worth?

Paul to the crowd

has just been taken from the crowd to the barracks so that he wouldn’t be torn apart by the crowd
he is mistaken for an insurrectionist
he speaks to the people in Hebrew- everyone is a polyglot except maybe the Romans
Paul for a defense simply tells them his story- the greatest among the Jews becoming one of the greatest among the Christians in a bout of humility
go to those who have rejected you and me, the Jews and the gentiles
as soon as they hear something they don’t like they stop listening

Paul is a Roman citizen

the crowds arousal leads the Romans to do what they would normally do to those they have subjugated, torture them until they get what they want
Paul waits until the last moment to mention that it would be illegal to treat him like any other Jew
citizenship can be bought- what Paul used all his tentmaking and birthday money on
for such a situation as this one- so now Paul will begin the journey to Rome in the way he never thought he would make it

Application

In the face of people who want to tear Paul apart in the streets limb by limb, he simply tells them his story
maybe it was worth something to someone in that crowd or maybe it wasn’t
however, the story of how one became a Christian is always one worth telling, and if this is when Paul chooses to do it, then when is a bad time for you or I to share the same story?
other identifiers for Paul are just things that he uses
his faith in Christ is what guides and consumes his life
