Matt 6:25-34
In the previous section Jesus makes it abundantly clear that we can’t serve two masters.
We either serve Him or the world.
Now Jesus transitions to address the anxieties of our life that cause us not to seek and serve God as Master
V. 25
God knows the basics and provides them
V.26-27
Birds go day by day with no worry about the things needed to survive, we should understand the providence of God
V.28-30
You obsessed with how you dress? The beauty of nature far exceeds anything man made, and God provides it. Don’t be obsessed or worried with appearance, for God provides what you need
V.31
The conclusion is don’t be so caught up with bare things of life, or the friendships around you.
Why?
V. 32
People who don’t know God are driven by worry and chase material and temporary things
Christians don’t have to be caught up in the rat race, because we know and belong to a God who provides what we need.
V. 33
So we are to seek God and His righteousness, provided by Jesus, and grown in us by His Spirit, and God will provide what we need tenfold.
