Costume Party 2022 Devo

Thank you for coming tonight

I have had a blast tonight

Here in just a little bit we are going to tell you the winner of the costume contest

It’s going to be a hard choice; you all look great

Look around; there are so many different images being represented

We’ve got characters, food, inanimate objects, etc.

But there’s also a sense in which we all look the same

One of the most awesome things about being a follower of Jesus is that we are transformed into the image of Jesus together

Check this verse out:

2 Corinthians 3:18 (ESV)

And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

What does that mean?

If you have had a moment in your life where you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you get to stand in the presence of God and be transformed into the image of Christ

In other words, we look more and more like Jesus as we grow in Him and as we gather together like we have tonight

Notice the phrase: “with unveiled face”

Naturally, we all have veiled faces. This is because of our sin

*Share the Gospel*

So with this comes two questions

First, have you responded to the Gospel by making Jesus your Lord and Savior?

Have you truly had a moment where you said “I, myself, have decided to follow Jesus,”

Because the truth is that, your parents faith is not enough to save you. you have to accept Him yourself

You have to respond to the Gospel

I remember what this looked like for me *share story*

Have you had that moment? Have you accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior?

Don’t you want other people to be a part of that? Friends of yours that don’t know Christ?
