Which one do you prefer? Why is that?

What does it mean to delight in something?
What are some things that you desire/delight in? Why?
Body:
Is it wrong to have desires and delights?
We would have to say no. Desires and delights are not wrong things or bad. In fact, we would have to say that these things are good....the problem comes when we are not delighting and desiring the right things.
The Bible would tell us that our greatest desire and delight should be in the Lord.
1 How happy is the one who does not walk in the advice of the wicked or stand in the pathway with sinners or sit in the company of mockers! 2 Instead, his delight is in the Lord’s instruction, and he meditates on it day and night. (Ps. 1:1-2)
9 The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever; the ordinances of the Lord are reliable and altogether righteous. 10 They are more desirable than gold— than an abundance of pure gold; and sweeter than honey dripping from a honeycomb. (Ps. 19:9-10)
1 God, you are my God; I eagerly seek you. I thirst for you; my body faints for you in a land that is dry, desolate, and without water. 2 So I gaze on you in the sanctuary to see your strength and your glory. 3 My lips will glorify you because your faithful love is better than life. 4 So I will bless you as long as I live; at your name, I will lift up my hands. 5 You satisfy me as with rich food;, my mouth will praise you with joyful lips. (Ps. 63:1-5)
8 Taste and see that the Lord is good. How happy is the person who takes refuge in him! (Ps. 34:8)
God is to be our greatest desire and delight. He is the only one who is able to satisfy our hearts.
Conclusion:
Do your desires and delights ever get in your way and keep you from pursuing a great desire and delight?
What seems to get in your way of pursuing God?
19 “Don’t store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves don’t break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. 22 “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. So if the light within you is darkness, how deep is that darkness! 24 “No one can serve two masters, since either he will hate one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. (Matt 6:19-24)
Make it your aim this week to pursue God. Let Him become your greatest delight!
