PROVERBS 16:32 Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty,
and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.
1. God wants us to identify with our emotions Genesis 1:26. God created us as emotional beings we feel love, joy, happiness, guilt, anger, disappointment, fear etc. Luke 10:21
2. Sometimes our emotions are grounded in truth, and sometimes they are false in that they are based upon false premises. Ephesians 6:14 (1 Kings 18:46, 1 Peter 1:13, Isa. 1:15) Job, Abraham, Peter, Lot Job 2:9-10; Genesis 12:10-13; Mathew 18:21; Genesis 4:5-8;
3. It is important to know how to manage our emotions instead of letting our emotions manage us. Mark 3:1-5 1 Samuel 24;
4. Out of control emotions tend not to produce God honoring results. (James 1:20)
5. Remove bitterness from your heart (Ephesians 4:31)
6. Work hard on forgiving others (Mathew 19:20-22)
7. Remove sorrow from your heart (Ecclesiastes 11:10)
8. Remove stubbornness from your heart (Romans 2:5-6)
9. Confront fear head on ( Deuteronomy 31:8)
10. Submit negative thoughts to the Lord and think on positive things (Philippians 4:8)
11. Be grateful for what you have (Luke 12:15)
12. Remove pride from your life (Proverbs 11:2)
