1 John 3:8–16 NASB95
the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil. No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother. For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another; not as Cain, who was of the evil one and slew his brother. And for what reason did he slay him? Because his deeds were evil, and his brother’s were righteous. Do not be surprised, brethren, if the world hates you. We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death. Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer; and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
Now you may be thinking ok Ron WE get it .... Why do you talk about the same thing over and over.
1 Because the bible does and is consistent
2 because the text we are in does
3. I want you not to be deceived, I feel this is probably the greatest deception amongst believers
That WE can believe and not have to trust
John 3:16 on of the most misunderstood scriptures
John 3:16 NASB95
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
Believes in the greek the word is pisteuo

to entrust oneself to an entity in complete confidence, believe (in), trust

Unfortunately some words and verses in the Bible lose some meaning thru translation
To me it's hard to find people who don't believe in God but do you trust your life to God and the gospel of Christ crucified. Even the demons believe in God but they don't trust their lives with.I fear that this verse and the word believe have been so watered down that the true meaning itself has been watered down . So let me ask you do you trust your entire life to God and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
look at what Jesus said,
John 14:23 NASB95
Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him.
Notice Will , Not should not maybe will , not i wish they would no He says
Those that Love Him Will Keep His word
Lets look a bit further John 14:15-24
John 14:15–24 NASB95
“If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you. “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. “After a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live also. “In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. “He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.” Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, “Lord, what then has happened that You are going to disclose Yourself to us and not to the world?” Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him. “He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent Me.
So obedience as we have been talking about over the last few weeks is crucial not just suggested for a better life now , but a requirement for the only life after this one.
You see we will all live forever what truly matters is location location location
John 3:16–19 NASB95
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. “For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. “He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. “This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.
has not believed same word there as in verse 16 meaning entrusted ones life to with complete confidence
So those that have not entrusted their lives entire lives over to jesus are condemned already
Now lets move on.... I hope you truley graso the importance of belief not of something but entrusting your live into His hands I truley pray that you grasp the importance of obediance. Lets get off the fence lets run from it lets run back to Him
Now he says We should love one another , not as cain

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

1 Corinthians 13:4–8 NASB95
Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away.

Philippians 2:3

Philippians 2:3 NASB95
Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves;

Matthew 5:43-48

Matthew 5:43–48 NASB95
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ “But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. “For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? “If you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? “Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Matthew 6:14-15

Matthew 6:14–15 NASB95
“For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. “But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.
Now what did cain do and why does it say not like cain
Genesis 4:1–12 (NASB95)
Now the man had relations with his wife Eve, and she conceived and gave birth to Cain, and she said, “I have gotten a manchild with the help of the Lord.” Again, she gave birth to his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of flocks, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. So it came about in the course of time that Cain brought an offering to the Lord of the fruit of the ground. Abel, on his part also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of their fat portions. And the Lord had regard for Abel and for his offering; but for Cain and for his offering He had no regard. So Cain became very angry and his countenance fell. Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? “If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it.” Cain told Abel his brother. And it came about when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him. Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is Abel your brother?” And he said, “I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper?” He said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood is crying to Me from the ground. “Now you are cursed from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. “When you cultivate the ground, it will no longer yield its strength to you; you will be a vagrant and a wanderer on the earth.”
So it came about in the course of time that Cain brought an offering to the Lord of the fruit of the ground
And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it.”
Jeolosy, rilvary , hatrad
these are not love but works of the flesh Remember Gal
Galatians 5
Galatians 5 NASB95
It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery. Behold I, Paul, say to you that if you receive circumcision, Christ will be of no benefit to you. And I testify again to every man who receives circumcision, that he is under obligation to keep the whole Law. You have been severed from Christ, you who are seeking to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace. For we through the Spirit, by faith, are waiting for the hope of righteousness. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, but faith working through love. You were running well; who hindered you from obeying the truth? This persuasion did not come from Him who calls you. A little leaven leavens the whole lump of dough. I have confidence in you in the Lord that you will adopt no other view; but the one who is disturbing you will bear his judgment, whoever he is. But I, brethren, if I still preach circumcision, why am I still persecuted? Then the stumbling block of the cross has been abolished. I wish that those who are troubling you would even mutilate themselves. For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” But if you bite and devour one another, take care that you are not consumed by one another. But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law. Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. Let us not become boastful, challenging one another, envying one another.
So what am I saying .......
Im trying to show you a few things one the bible is very consistant
But we are consistantly trying to mold it ti fit our lives
However God calls us not to make it relavant today but instaaed to allow it to mold out live and see it real elavance today
Out church culture has oaraded the idea you can have the world and jesus
You can have a love of things of the world and jesus
You can be a willful sinner who doesnt need to change and still have jesus
I want you to see thats not the teachings of the bible
He says he will take you as you are yes you dont have to be a clean missinary to come to christ you can be a deranged mental man a brawler a drunk a prositute a lawyer
and meybe even a missionary
and you can come to him with your sins and he will wash you and clense you not to return to them but be free from them
Words .............
Anyone can say anything right..................
Actions a change in the heart in the desires the things one loves the things one hates these are the things He is looking for
think about it what do you expect of people to keep thier word
If you have a deal for them a gift for them but they have to surrender something for it
Consider the wild west they had to surrender their guns because of all the shoot outs when entering many towns including dodge city
in exchange they would get a hot meal a warm bed to sleep in
This is like what Christ tells us you want the eat of the bread of life you want the living water you want to find rest in my house
Deny yourself surrender your pleasures you will your way for my way pick up the cross of sacrifice and follow me
Do this and YOu will never thirst again
in order to do this you must entrust him will all through faith knowing he may not take care of your wants but he will your nedds
trusting that his way is better than your way that you have come to the end of your way and you are going to go his way
Have you done this? truley believed in him entrusted your life to him you want peace here it is
The decision is yours alone
