Transcript
1 When Ahab got home, he told Jezebel everything Elijah had done, including the way he had killed all the prophets of Baal.
2 So Jezebel sent this message to Elijah: “May the gods strike me and even kill me if by this time tomorrow I have not killed you just as you killed them.”
3 Elijah was afraid and fled for his life. He went to Beersheba, a town in Judah, and he left his servant there.
4 Then he went on alone into the wilderness, traveling all day. He sat down under a solitary broom tree and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, Lord,” he said. “Take my life, for I am no better than my ancestors who have already died.”
5 Then he lay down and slept under the broom tree. But as he was sleeping, an angel touched him and told him, “Get up and eat!”
6 He looked around and there beside his head was some bread baked on hot stones and a jar of water! So he ate and drank and lay down again.
7 Then the angel of the Lord came again and touched him and said, “Get up and eat some more, or the journey ahead will be too much for you.”
8 So he got up and ate and drank, and the food gave him enough strength to travel forty days and forty nights to Mount Sinai, the mountain of God.
9 There he came to a cave, where he spent the night. But the Lord said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
10 Elijah replied, “I have zealously served the Lord God Almighty. But the people of Israel have broken their covenant with you, torn down your altars, and killed every one of your prophets. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me, too.”
“Fear” False Evidence Appearing Real”
4 This is the message the Lord gave concerning Israel and Judah.
5 This is what the Lord says: “I hear cries of fear; there is terror and no peace.
6 Now let me ask you a question: Do men give birth to babies? Then why do they stand there, ashen-faced, hands pressed against their sides like a woman in labor?
7 In all history there has never been such a time of terror. It will be a time of trouble for my people Israel. Yet in the end they will be saved!
Jeremias 30.4-17
4 Este es el mensaje que dio el Señor con relación a Israel y Judá.
5 Esto dice el Señor: «Oigo gritos de temor; hay terror y no hay paz.
6 Déjenme hacerles una pregunta: ¿Acaso los varones dan a luz?¿Entonces por qué están parados allí con sus caras pálidas y con las manos apoyadas sobre el vientre como una mujer en parto?
7 En toda la historia nunca ha habido un tiempo de terror como este.
There is a type of fear that seeks to trap you.
It is not the fear you are thinking about like being scared of the dark, ghosts, haunted house, halloween.
This is a different type of fear.
This fear hides in plain sight.
This trap is so demonic you might not even realize you are bound.
It holds you hostage but makes you think you are okay.
Proverbs 29:25–26 (NLT)
25 Fearing people is a dangerous trap, but trusting the Lord means safety.
26 Many seek the ruler’s favor, but justice comes from the Lord.

Mas el que confía en Jehová será exaltado.

Fear is always a trap, a snare.
3 For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease.
3 El te librará del lazo del cazador, De la peste destructora.
A snare will go undetected until you fall prey to it.
It usually lies hiding in the grass.
Fear cripples, fear paralyzes, the trap will inject poison into your life.
Fear will cause you to go blind. Physically and spiritually.
Fear will even make you hide from GOD. Gen. 3:10
This thing will bring shame, guilt, and condemnation.
How does that sound familiar? Who else brings condemnation?
the enemy is the accuser.
The antidote to fear is a conviction of GOD!
Conviction - Convince, Hebrew: YAKAH to prove or correct.
Conviction always results in hope instead of despair.
Being broken before GOD is what takes you out of that trap and sets you free.
It says to GOD that you cannot do it, it places you in a place of surrender to HIM.
Ps 18:43 Victory over all of my accusers.
Zech 3.2
10 Then I heard a loud voice shouting across the heavens, “It has come at last— salvation and power and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down to earth— the one who accuses them before our God day and night.
10 Entonces oí una gran voz en el cielo, que decía: Ahora ha venido la salvación, el poder, y el reino de nuestro Dios, y la autoridad de su Cristo; porque ha sido lanzado fuera el acusador de nuestros hermanos, el que los acusaba delante de nuestro Dios día y noche.
7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
15 So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”
15 Pues no habéis recibido el espíritu de esclavitud para estar otra vez en temor, sino que habéis recibido el espíritu de adopción, por el cual clamamos: ¡Abba, Padre!
