Mary’s Willingness

Mary was a special person because of her

willingness to bear a child

to be a possible unwed teen mom

to face the hostility of the towns people

to have the possibility of her betrothed husband divorce her

to live in deep poverty

to be a servant of God and carry this child

Her faith in the Almighty to take care of her through this time

When God tells us to do something our response should be a immediate yes also

So we have seen Mary’s response to the angel’s message

what was Gabriel’s message to Mary

what did Gabriel say about our Savior

a Roman Catholic tradition that states the Mary did not have the original sin

Thus she did not pass that on to Jesus

But just the opposite is true

Mary like the rest of humanity was in total rebellion to God

All of us like sheep have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way; But Yahweh has caused the iniquity of us all To fall on Him.

Mary like us was so deep in sin that unless God showed he her own heart

and convicted us of the depth of our depravity, we would never know

we look at ourselves and say I’m a pretty good person

like Martin Luther, he knew the depth of his sin and tried to punish himself but he knew it was never good enough

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

It is only by God’s grace that gave us a new life, made us alive to accept

Jesus as our Savior

The wicked fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They act corruptly, they commit abominable deeds; There is no one who does good. Yahweh looks down from heaven upon the sons of men To see if there is anyone who has insight, Anyone who seeks after God. Mary was no different she was in need of God’s free gift of salvation

She was a God hating, in full rebellion against God

running as fast away from God as she could

“The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick; Who can know it?

Only the Holy Spirit can open the eyes and mind to our wickedness

and cause us to turn to Jesus

So the Roman theology of Immaculate conception is wrong

and desperately wicked

Mary needs God’s Grace

V 28 favored one — one who Grace has been given

Unmerited favor

The Lord is at your side

V 30 Don’t be afraid

What makes man afraid standing in the presence of God?

or an angel that stands in the presence of God?

What made Peter afraid of Jesus when he realized who Jesus was?

The realization of our sin and the Holiness of God

V 30 you have found favor with God

God Has given you Grace

Ephesians 2:8–9 LSB

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not of works, so that no one may boast.

Without God’s grace people are going to be under the wrath of God for an eternity

But getting back to the virgin birth

Isaiah 7:14 LSB

“Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.

Jesus cant have a human father because the sin nature is passed down from Adam

also genetic defects that are rampant in this time and even more today

cancer and sickness are a result of the curse

Adam and eve were made perfect, no dna defect

no sin , no bad Genes

Lets look at a natural conception

the male sperm and female egg meet up and join together and create an embryo still in the woman’s tubes

while the Uterus is making itself ready to receive the new embryo

The uterus/ Womb as the Bible calls it

V 31 You will conceive in your womb, bypassing the tubes

The Holy Spirit put into the embryo, Baby Jesus

The eternal God the Son

V 32 The Son of the Most High

what did Mary understand who this was?

The exact replica of God the Father

Almighty God

She was the surrogate mother of God

Jesus, when he was born a human, he was, and still is perfect

Jesus was a human embryo implanted into Mary

Mary was a true virgin not even her egg was used

This is a true miracle of the almighty

Jesus is true human and at the same time true God

as a human he lived on this earth, he was hungry, tired, viciously attacked, he was angry with the money changers

He died a criminals death, buried

he was tempted but did not sin

Because of His love for His people Jesus, God made himself a human embryo

not that we deserved it. it we did not

We are dead in our trespasses and sin

our nature is to look after # 1

The nature of Jesus is to give His life as a ransom for many

our nature is run away from God

His nature is to draw us to Him

our nature comes from our father Adam that says my way is best

the nature of Jesus tells us that we are dead and deserve to stay that way

But Jesus died in our place

But Jesus Who gave us favor

who gave us new life

who took all our sin upon himself

who is the author and finisher of our faith

so that we can stand before God without fear, because our intercessor stands with us

Don’t let a moment go by without thanking Jesus for becoming an embryo and living as a human

so that we can be with Him for ever

Thank Him for His Love that kept Him on the cross

Thank Him for the grace that He gave to us an undeserving people

Maybe you are listening, and you are back slidden you no longer go to church

or Maybe through covid you stopped coming and it became a habit to stay home

you have given up, someone has hurt you and you are not coming anymore

don’t look at other people they will always fail you

But Jesus wont. Jesus left His throne in Heaven with the Father

He became an embryo to become like us, to live like us

to be our substitute, to take our sin

He has promised to never leave us

Jesus wants us to be gathered together, to encourage each other

to use our gifts to build each other up.

It’s time to repent and come back to Gathering our selves together

Mary when she was given grace to carry the Son of God said yes

and she was in it for the long haul

Jesus left His throne for us was in it for the long haul

they gave 100%

can we with the grace given to us give any less?

Repent of your laziness

repent of the sin that is causing you to stumble

Jesus deserves 100% are you giving it?
