For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD,

II. It Takes A Purpose.

and to do it,
Philippians 3:13–14
13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Why are you saved?
What are you doing?
What are you doing for Jesus according to His Word?

III. It Takes A Place.

and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments.
Ezra started in captivity.
