FAMILY' BEHAVIOR IN AMERICA TODAY According topollster George Bama:

One out of every four marriages has ended in divorce.

Two out of three adults say that a successful marriage is one in which both partners have freedom to do as they choose.

One-third of all married adults believe that adultery is an acceptable behavior.

Cohabitation has risen by more than 500 percent in the past two decades, even though people who cohabitate prior to marriage have an 82 percent greater chance of divorce than do couples who marry without having first lived together.

One out of three children born this year will be born to an unwed mother.
