For Seekers, He Stops!

Have you ever met someone who you thought was trying really hard to be a person they’re not?

Frank Abagnale Jr. was quite an interesting character. He:

was rich

was a pilot for Pan Am airlines, flying all over the world

stayed in luxurious hotels

bought expensive cars

after piloting, he was a doctor and managed interns

after being a doctor, he became a lawyer, passing the Bar exam

And hearing all of this about a person, you probably think, “That is really an accomplished human being right there!”

Except… it was all fake.

He had learned how to successfully forge checks and get tellers to cash them.

He conned his way into being a pilot.

He worked his way around FBI capture constantly.

He posed as the doctor and the lawyer, people believing it.

But eventually, it was over and he was arrested in Paris. He ended up being a consultant for the FBI on how to “appear” authentic.

And here’s the deal… Jesus isn’t looking for people who “appear” authentic. He encountered plenty of Pharisees who did that well.

But what Jesus stopped in His tracks for, no matter what He was doing… was SEEKERS!

“Who touched the hem of my garment?!”

FOR SEEKERS, HE STOPS!

I feel something right there…

I want to tell some students that you can try to play the part, if you want! But God is interested in SEEKERS today! Some people who are HUNGRY!

I wonder if there would be some people tonight who would get ahold of a seeker mentality!!!
