Philippians

Paul speaks of generosity from two points of view:

How it benefits the spread of the Gospel

How it benefits the givers.

I rejoice for your generosity, (for its benefit to you)

I can live with plenty or penury, (I am well-supplied in Christ)

Luke

Jesus also takes two views of material goods:

honesty in our dealings

using goods in enterprising ways (for the good of the kingdom).
