We always say its “good to read the word of God”
I wan to ask you this
Why is it good to read the word of God?
16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
What do you think it means that all scripture is given by inspiration.
that means that all scripture is inspired by God.
(show them what that means)
So scripture is inspired by God that doesn’t mean that God sat down and told them exactly what to say.
That means that God used the authors words to say what he wanted to say.
now I want to ask you
Why did God give us his word?
The Bible says that he gave us his word for a few reason.
First he said
For teaching.
So he gave us his word so we could teach his word.
So that we could tell others what his word says.
He also said it was good for reproof
That means conviction.

Conviction is when God sends his holy spirit to show us of the wrong things that we have done and conviction wants us to ask him for repentance.
In other words to ask that he forgive us of our sins and we begin to live a life for him.
next the Bible says scripture is for correction.
so let me ask you guys a question.
do you guys ever do anything wrong to your parents?
Well when you do your parents may correct you.
They may tell you that isn’t the right way to do things.
That is what the Bible is for to.
It tells us what is right and what is wrong and how to live.
For example,
The Bible gives us the 10 commandments
one of those commandments is
do not lie
Now that’s pretty straight forward.
we know that the scripture corrects us
lastly the scripture can train us
