Ex34.10-17 / Indifference/Defiance- overtime, we end up just not caring.

Problem of idolatry - Idolatry was the worship of an image that was taking the place of God.

Ex 34- Sounds easy. Where we’ve been, where we’re going, God is working.

The strongest thing you must place in your mind is that what you've been through is also characteristic of where God is taking you next.

He doesn’t change. His purposes don’t change. The heart of his ability and love for humanity is not ever going to change.

In Ex34, God is asking that you understand, he was there in what you went through and delivered you from what you were going to get to also.

WHEN WE REPLACE THE WORK OF GOD WITH SOMETHING ELSE, WE’VE JUST INVITED IDOLATRY TO BE A PART OF OUR LIVES AND OUR OPERATING MENTALITY.

(:40) This is Exodus 34. - You shall not make for yourself any gods of cast metal

Told your kids something super pointed because they just made a dumb mistake and you really wanted it to sink in? WHAT DID I SAY? DISAPPOINTMENT. FRUSTRATION. AGGRAVATION.

AS PARENTS, OUR HEART IS THAT IF OUR KIDS WOULD JUST LISTEN AND OBEY. THAT THEY WOULD SIMPLY THINK - MOM SAID SOMETHING ABOUT THIS,

Instead of trying to get away with, perhaps we should just listen and obey/comply.

This is exactly what God is doing right here! → DON’T DO THIS AGAIN!

Ex. 32.:1-10 - When you forget or neglect the Lord, even idolatry looks like you're worshiping the Lord.

Doing 1 of 2 things -> Believing it, Or, Tolerating it / only choosing it when convenient

When you get in the way of what God wants to do, you become your idol.
