INTRO: ME/WE- The clarity of the view.- Driving snow storm

BELIEVING LIES.

WHAT IF YOU’RE WHOLE LIFE IS BASED ON A LINE OF LOGIC THAT IS WRONG? WHAT THEN?
We’re going to discuss the view and establish a Biblical Worldview that is based on truth rather than anything else.
inventing things to believe. // Inventing Versions of the truth

A worldview is exactly as you would imagine, it’s the view through which you look at the world around you as you approach it and as you interact with it.

Ppl contact // relationships you have // you are entitled to your own wrong opinion,
Your opinion might be invaluable to you,
Exempt because Christ follower- Safe from disbelief

One of our great flaws is that when we don’t understand something about the word of God, we begin to invent interpretations of what we think God meant, said or did not say or clarify and that almost always results in a line of logic that favors our own future and personal outcome.

Romans 8:28- And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Your worldview in comprised of three pieces:

What you believe - What you interpret to be truth.

What you value- the good that you do and are a part of

How you behave- the things that you do.

Colossians 2:6-8 NIV,

our objective becomes our own happiness and everything in life then because the tools we use to enhance our happiness.

Material Humanism. Or Pantheism.

“This world is all there is and anything that has value is only found in this world.”

Ultimately this says that god is in everything and that everything is god.
Nothing is sacred. GET AS RICH AS POSSIBLE

Secular Humanism. Or Atheism.

You’ve undoubtedly heard that term before and maybe you know a little about it. Maybe you live in that zone, but an atheist essentially is subscribing to the belief that:

This world is all there is and anything therein with value is found inside of me.

Or, adversely, nothing with value exists outside of me.
THANK ME FOR ME - Their interpretation of fact is based on feeling which then becomes my version of truth.

<<KEYS BEGINNING>>

Post Modernism - Agnosticism

Maybe youve encountered this term also. Agnosticism essentially means that God, if there is one, cannot actually be known. Maybe he does, maybe he doesn’t, we may never actually know.
This worldview determines that

I create my own reality, I determine what truth is.

There is no absolute truth. Truth is only true if you feel it is.

A Biblical Worldview.

We use the Word of God to determine the framework by which we look through and determine the absolute and eternal truth of God.

60% of Christians believe that living together outside of marriage is acceptable.
Only 44% of Christians believe that marriage is between one man and one woman.
ONLY 10% base their moral choices on the word of God, 90% base their decision solely on what they want and what they think will make them happy.
67% of teens determine that the church will not play a role in their lives when they leave home and are on their own.
9% of Christians believe the Word of God is the lens to determine absolute truth. They simply believe it’s a good book with good moral, but not the basis of life.
WRAPPING UP
What are you supposed to do with all this information?
We need to be bothered by the fact that this is a problem. If we are never concerned about the fact that truth is being robbed
Couple reasons why its imperative to have a Biblical Worldview-

It gives us a deeper understanding of God, who he is and his word.

Jeremiah 9:23-24 NIV, This is what the Lord says: “Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches, 24 but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the Lord.

It gives us a deeper understanding of who we actually are in the scope of eternity. - Wk4 of the series

Romans 3:10-12NIV, As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God. 12 All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.”

It gives us a better understanding of our world and our place in it - Focus on this 2 different weeks.

Rom 12:2 NIV, Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
