[A Lesson the explores the notion that God can use you in spite of you]
[A lesson that explores the power of God in minsitry]
God wants to work on you
God wants to work in you
But what about when God wants to work through you?
But what about when God wants to work through you?
Someone prayed for God to work on them, and God decided to use you as the instrument.
Someone prayed for God to open up a door, and God has positioned you
Someone is saying “I’m not good/fit/smart enough to be used by God. . . . “who told you that?”
You’re not fit enough to make that assesment [what God can and cannot use]
[Give brief summary that leads up to this point]
[Give brief summary that leads up to this point]
Chap 1 details the arrival of Israel’s family in Egypt and their exponential growth even through adversity. Pharaoh takes measures to stop this growth, little did He know this was God’s plan, and he couldn’t stop it
Chap 2 details the salavtion of the boy Moses by growing Him up in the house of the king that wanted him dead Acts 7:20 ““It was at this time that Moses was born; and he was lovely in the sight of God, and he was nurtured three months in his father’s home.”
The chapter details the event that led Moses to the wilderness in Midian; the murder of the Egyptian and it becoming known to Pharaoh
We also see Him as he flees to Midian and “delivers” a family from some oppressing shepherds.
Ex 2:24-25 “So God heard their groaning; and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. God saw the sons of Israel, and God took notice of them.”
God was ready to act! This is when God can work through . . .

[Someone might say I am not Moses.] God may not use you for the same thing like He used Moses, but He’ll use you, like He used Moses!
Points to Consider
Points to Consider
When God uses you it will be when He is ready
When God uses you it will be in spite of you
Consider
1 Sam 16:1-11.
In vs 5, They are instructed to “invite them [Jesse and his sons] to the sacrifice. There’s a son that wasn’t invited
Vs. 6, “surely the Lord’s anointed is before Him” [Eliab]
Abinadab/Shammah, 4 more sons pass - God says “not them”
1 Sam 16:7 “But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.””
God doesn’t assess like man
God doesn’t assess like man
You’re not fit enough to make that assesment [what God can and cannot use]
1 Cor 3:9 “For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building.” - We share in a work with God.
Eph 4:16 “from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.”
There is work to do, there are ministries to fill and work in.

Someone has been asking you to serve, be a part of, help out in. . .and you have been saying No!
